Vitemolla lamp in action
Bitemalls is a small fishing village in the south of Sweden.
We have finally finished repairing our house! It was a torture to find good lighting for our bathroom, that’s why we finally stopped at Ikea again.
In the past, it has become really tough to find a good item from their rare assortment but still, it is possible.
Vitemolla is the only light source for bathrooms, which is done in a classic design and good quality materials. We liked it a lot that’s why we grabbed two at once.
Bright light for our bathroom:
At first, we had a spooky light bulb hanging out from a cellar of our bathroom, until we realized that there wasn’t enough light near the washbasin and we really needed more light there. An almost charcoal black wooden ceiling desperately cried for something white for a contrast. So here is a white matte lamp with a ceramic basement. Water-resistant ceiling bathroom lamp:
For a long time, a vacancy for a bathroom lamp was opened in our house because nothing could fit the bill for us. Regular stores used to offer something either ugly or as pricey as a microwave. And again - Ikea saves us, here the price/quality correlation is still one of the most profitable.
The lamp consists of three parts: a massive ceramic base, plastic socket and a glass shade.
It’s quite simple to assemble but the kit doesn’t provide any drywall screws so you need to think about them in advance.
There’s a hint of humid protection tape, but only IP44 and it’s silicone based. The glass shape is matte and it diffuses light softly and evenly.
I installed powerful diode lamps there so as not to confuse nose with lips in the dim lights.

This item cost $20. I didn’t find anything better for the money and I like this lamp a lot. It contains a little bit of retrospective and recalls the times when furniture wasn’t made of fake wood and doors weren’t manufactured with paper.
