We bought this Xiaomi vacuum cleaner robot half a year ago. Originally I was skeptical about the purchase, I wasn’t sure if we would like it or if it would just be a useless gadget after we’ve lost interest in it. This is what happened with 3D TV and Sony PlayStation 4.
My sister has had a similar device for several years and she is extremely happy with it. But I was not so enthusiastic about the idea of a vacuum cleaner. I do not know why. Plus, I knew that the robot will not do a full cleanup. So I thought, I could manage without it, because I had a nice cleaning schedule.
But then it happened - we bought it on a whim. We looked at all the offers on the market, watched a lot of videos and then came to the conclusion that the best value for money is Xiaomi.
To the vacuum cleaner we made certain demands. It should be equipped with all modern sensors to avoid hitting walls or falling down the stairs. We also wanted the vacuum cleaner not to move chaotically, but systematically work through all the zones of a room without missing an inch.
About the vacuum cleaner:

Battery life:
This has all the necessary features. The battery is pretty good with 5200 mAh and about 2.5 h of battery life.It takes 40 minutes to clean up the entire ground floor (about 90 m²) . Then the robot can be carried upstairs and it continues cleaning.
Once the battery is low, the robot automatically moves to the charging station and starts its work again at the last point where it stopped. The robot maps out the interiors of your house:
About the cleaning:
A vacuum cleaner is a vacuum cleaner, do not expect a miracle from it. The suction is good at dust, hair and other little things. He cleans up everything well, nothing is left on the floor. But if it's the kitchen, I’d recommend to wipe the floor after it because stains and other dirt remains. The vacuum cleaner fulfills only the dry cleaning.
Apart from the kitchen, the bathroom and the corridor, the vacuum cleaner offers good cleanliness.
Sensors:
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with twelve sensors. When cleaning up the ground floor, the vacuum cleaner does not fall down the stairs to the basement. But I'm still afraid to leave it in the hallway, because the hallway is white. I'm afraid that it would not orient itself there. I also do not like experimenting. Thanks to its sensors, the vacuum cleaner creates a map and works through it precisely. It did not hit anything, never ran into anything ... But still, I'm scared for it.
Next to my bed, there are rugs of red with gray ornaments and a few black squares on them, and the vacuum cleaner goes around them, mistaking them for a cliff. If I want my bedroom completely clean, I take the rugs out of the room.
The robot also cleans up the ground floor without our supervision. That’s where its charging station stands, and I don’t worry about it 
It does not require our attention. Before we leave, we pick up some things to make it easier and cleaner.
The control:
The Xiaomi Vacuum Cleaner can be controlled via an app that is available for iOS and Android. The app is in Chinese, but we also found it on the internet in English.
With the app, you can control the robot’s map and its battery condition. Also, it can be started or stopped via the app. Cleanups can be scheduled with this app.
If you can not cope with all the technology and apps, you can launch the robot without it. It will work in its default mode and then return to the station. Also, there is a button to terminate the cleanup.
The vacuum cleaner informs us in English if it is ready or the battery is low or its container is full.
Finally, I want to say that I really liked this vacuum cleaner. I think it’s the best value for the price on the market. There is no reason to pay more for the same functions.
If you do not like the fact that the robot does not wipe the floor, believe me, it’s for the best.
Once, I had a vacuum cleaner with water filter, and it was a headache: first fill up the containers, then they must be quickly emptied, otherwise the water will stink. Plus, I don’t think such a floor mopping robot can clean up properly by dragging a dirty washcloth.
I think such a vacuum cleaner is irreplaceable in a big house with a lot of free space. In addition, it is good if you have no carpets in the house, but only tiles, stone, parquet or laminate. It is difficult for the robot to cross obstacles higher than 0.5 cm. He manages to get up on a thin carpet, but not on a really fluffy one
All in all, it’s a great device that spares your time!
