Hello dear girls!
I use bronzers all year round, as I don’t like being pale. There are a lot of bronzers in my collection. Some of them I can use all year round while others are only for summer. And my review is about one of the summer bronzers.
Meet the Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base.
It’s packed in a rather big and round plastic jar. The plastic material is thick and firm, as my bronzer fell on the floor a few times, though nothing happened with the jar.
Between the screw on top and the jar they placed the protecting inner liner.
Size - 30g
Made in France
The texture of this bronzer is very unusual. It’s a hybrid between cream, gel and powder. It may feel a little bit dry to the touch, though it actually isn’t.
The pigmentation is nice as well as blending. But be careful with the tools you apply it with, as you can stain them.
It’s better to opt for a densely packed brush with a soft round cut, as well as something like famous spoon/oval brushes like Cailyn O! Wow Brush.
They call this product a bronzing makeup base. But it can also be used as a regular cream bronzer and applied over foundation. But most frequently I use the Chanel Soleil Tan as makeup base before foundation, as its color isn’t perfect for me.
The product has a true red undertone that is especially visible while blending. What’s more it has a small golden shimmer that is also visible in the bright daylight.
If I use this bronzer as a base for my foundation then the finish looks very natural and delicate. But if I apply it over foundation, then the red undertone comes out making me look ill.
I apply the base on the sides of my face, hairline, cheekbones, chin and nose.
In the photo below I applied it on my bare skin with no foundation on.
Then I usually apply my makeup - foundation, concealer, contour etc.
The lasting power of this product totally depends on the foundation. And when I wore it alone it stayed on till removal.
Total look with the Chanel Soleil Tan De Bronzing Makeup Base
Chanel Soleil Tan De Bronzing Makeup Base is an undoubtedly interesting product which is easy to work with. The finish looks matte and delicate as though it’s my natural tanned skin (if applied before foundation).
I take off a star for the red undertone. It would have been such a great product without that nasty red shade.
Thanks for your attention to my post. Have a nice shopping day!
