Mattifying powders are must-haves for modern beauties, especially for those with oily skin. And I’m a simple woman, I hear about stuff and I buy it. That’s why I decided to give mattifying powder a shot.
But I didn’t want something ordinary, like a loose powder in a jar. That’s waaay too boring. I wanted something bright and breathtaking.
That’s why I ordered this mega-cool kawaii powder with Gudetama (a dream of any anime girl!)
Sanrio’s egg-turned-mascot character gets its name from a combination of the words “gude“(pronouced goo-deh), which is a Japanese onomatopoeia for describing something or someone with no energy or strength, and “tama” from the word tamago, which means egg in Japanese. And sure enough, Gudetama is an egg that, well … seems to lack the energy to do anything active at all.
So, Gudetama is a grumpy whining yolk.
Just look how cute it is!
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you Holika Holika Gudetama Sebum Clear Pact Powder.
Price: about $14
It’s cute and that’s its thing. The powder box is round and little, with an adorable picture on the lid.
Inside, there is a mirror and a protective covering between the sponge and the powder itself. There is a funny image too. Gudetama is so melancholic.
The sponge isn’t just little, it’s so tiny! It’s so damn inconvenient to deal with. Since I use this powder to touch up throughout the day, the sponge has soaked up my foundation already.
About the product
- Treat excess sebum on skin maintaining soft skin.
- Apple mint ingredient treats sebum giving fresh clear skin.
The powder is available in a single shade, which is white. It must be applied carefully, otherwise you may end up looking like a clown.
Don’t even try to apply it wet, seriously.
Before / after.
Omg, look at these under eye circles!
Yes, the result is not astounding, but the powder is mattifying and it’s not supposed to cover skin imperfection.
I use the powder the following way:
- 1. First I just sit and wait until my forehead shines
- 2. I take the powder out
- 3. I powder my face with a few short yet hefty motions.
- 4. ???
- 5. It’s done.
So the powder can only diminish the face shine, and nothing more.
I’ll warn you once again: it must be applied carefully, or you may turn into a dalmatian.
The effect of matte skin lasts about 5 hours, which I’m totally happy with.
It’s a pretty good mattifying powder. I’m satisfied with it in all respects, plus its design is so adorable! A great item for anime fans!
