Hey there! 🙌
Today I’d like to tell you about my recent purchase, which is demi-matte cream lipstick, (well, at least it’s promised to be like this) from the world-wide known miss Kattan.
The trend for totally dead matte lips is passing by and after her triumphant liquid matte lipsticks, Huda also released Lip Strobes. But now, she also treated us with a new collection of Demi Matte lipsticks. The new line-up is formed with 15 shades, which range from gentle nudes to deeply-toned vinous and pinks. If you’re following Huda on Instagram, then you’ve probably already seen her theme post where the new lipsticks were compared with this or that star sign.
So, this is what Huda says about her new product on the official site:
When creating this new formula, I wanted something super creamy, comfortable to wear, and highly-pigmented, that would keep my lips hydrated all day and still be bold and sexy. So, we created our Huda Beauty Demi Matte – a luxurious formula with the perfect balance between a matte and shine finish.
Has she succeeded in creating this very formula, which would be comfortable to wear and highly-pigmented at the same time? Let’s find it out. I bought one shade for testing. It’s in the color Sheikha.
I didn’t keep the box from it, so I can’t attach its photos. The tube is beautiful and it looks like glass, though it’s still plastic. The ombre effect here is impressive. The applicator is convenient to use, even though I can’t say that it’s anything special.
The aroma is light and unobtrusive, unlike those matte lipsticks. The texture is truly creamy and rather thick. Yet still, I don’t think it’s problematic since I apply it easy-breezy (at least I find it like this). One more thing that is especially attention-worthy is that the color here is truly saturated and pigmented.
The application with one layer, even if I blot it with paper, renders an even and highly-pigmented color payoff on my lips. The finish is glossy and dewy. The product doesn’t feather. It applies smoothly over a primer. No patches or splotches either. I was pleased to discover that the shades in the collection are wearable. It’s so advantageous for me, who isn’t a makeup artist or an Insta-diva. 😆 Swatches under the bright daytime lights:
I can’t comment upon it drying out, because I use any lipstick over a lip balm or a primer.
This is how it looks on my lips (along with a versatile Dior lip liner) under artificial warm lighting:

I bought this lipstick from Sephora for $20.00. I wish they released some kits of these.
It’s one of those cases when the description corresponds with reality. I still do believe in Huda’s lipsticks and keep on loving them. I think they managed to create a good product (here I remembered a phrase of “Mischief is managed” From Harry Potter). Thanks for your attention and have a good day! 🙌
