Sephora Feline Instinct Eyeshadow Palette - review

This palette is a part of the Feline Instinct collection. I was very impressed with the shades, pigmentation and the bloom of shimmers and colors here. 12 shades for creativity, this is exactly what I need!

••••••MEETING••••••

The palette was packed in a plastic box. It was sturdy but absolutely useless for me. The palette itself is made of metal.

 

It offers 12 refill pans, 1g each, which means 12g in total. That’s not much yet not too small for the price that it costs.

A mirror inside is big and nice in quality.

It was manufactured in Italy.

The palette also provides a dual-sided brush. It’s rather handy to use, you know. I don’t even want to throw it away. It’s soft and applies the eyeshadows well.

I wish the fluffy brush was bigger, though. But it’s still adequate and handy to use.

I really appreciate that rough sponge on one side of the palette which is here to cleanse and wipe off the brush quickly. It’s very nice and can be used several times. That sponge is very easy to wash off because it’s sturdy.

This palette will be a great option for everyone who puts on their makeup outside the house. It’s travel-friendly and good in quality. Besides, the brushes and sponge make it even more user-friendly.

*******SWATCHES AND SHADES*******

I want to draw your attention to the refills of the palette. I also have a palette from Too Faced and its refills are glued really badly.

Here, everything is done beautifully, well and pleasant.

Shade-wise, it fits for daytime makeup more, even though you can still come up with several evening looks. But I don’t do it. I can’t see any passion here, just confidence and practicality.

Swatches:

I divided the palette into matte and shimmering shades. There are 5 matte ones but I’ll take only 4 of them as true mattes.

In the picture, the two shades above are #1 and #11. They are very similar, the difference is only in the undertone. I don’t know why they put two similar shades in the palette. I wish they had more shimmering shades instead.

They apply well over a primer and on my nude skin. But of course, they look brighter over a primer. When I wear then over my nude skin, the shades are more sheer and darker.

The shimmers are all different. Even though 2 or 3 of them look similar on the pan, they open up differently in the swatch (the first and the second ones are on the right).

I’d say that the shimmers offer delicate glow which isn’t boring. They’ll refresh your daytime makeup with ease.

********MAKEUP********

Feel free to create any makeup with the palette. All the shades are matchy.

My eyes look wide awake and the nude palette fits the bill for the spring or fall seasons.

Don’t expect any vibrancy from them, though.

Even the red shade seems semi-sheer after blending. My makeup with it doesn’t look vulgar but still, it brings me into a more confident side.

The darker shades bring scope for the variety of daytime smokey eyes.

My makeup doesn’t apply with any patches. The texture is lightweight and undetectable on my eyes.

I love this palette because it’s compact, user- and travel-friendly. I can be sure that it won’t break down if I take it on a trip with me.

The shades are matchy and I can choose them for my mood. Also, the palette doesn’t embarrass with a color choice which saves time for my makeup.

Some shades do fall out when I apply them, so it’s better to protect your under eye area.

Highly recommend this palette!
