Pros: awesome pigmentation, big color range, blends out well, great mirror, highly-pigmented, long-lasting, reasonable price
Cons: the matte shades have low pigmentation

Welcome everyone!

Hell, yeah! I have the Sleek Oh So Special eyeshadow palette in my small (I must admit) makeup bag.

..........................................................................................................................................................

  • Price: around $13

  • The number of shades: 12.

Ingredients:

Mica, Talc, Kaolin, Magnesium Stearate, Dimethicone, Paraffinum Liquid, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Propylparaben and Methylparaben, +/- [CI77510, CI 77289, CI 77491, ,CI 77492]. Suitable for vegetarians. Not suitable for vegans.

..........................................................................................................................................................

Design: The design is classy throughout the whole range. Everything looks exquisitely and stylish. The palette is packed in a packaging with the usual product information.

The case is the real work of art. It’s matte black and has glossy letters, which are the name of the brand. Well, yes, it stains with my fingerprints, but this issue is not a deal-breaker.

It opens up tightly, so mind your nails! On the plus side, however, I can be sure that the palette won’t open spontaneously and the eyeshadows will be safe.

One of the pros of this palette is the mirror inserted in the upper lid, which is big and quite handy. It doesn’t distort the image.

The two-sided applicator sponge is also included, but I don’t use it. I wonder if anybody actually uses it.

I hope so much that Sleek will finally replace such applicators with brushes in the nearest future. But we have this for now…

........................................................................................................................... ...........................

Oh So Special is an awesome color range to create both a nice everyday makeup and an elegant evening look. The main colors are pink, gray and brown.

In my opinion, it’s the most versatile color range suitable for every eye color.

All the shades are finely milled and have a nice and creamy texture. Only RIBBON and WRAPPED UP stand out, probably because they are a little bit sturdier.

The eyeshadow applies really well. It can fall out just a teeny bit during application, but it’s OK.

The fallout removes easily with a fan makeup brush and leaves no streaks or stains except for the darkest shades. You will probably have to correct the foundation under your eyes after them.

Wear time: The eyeshadow stays put and doesn’t fade or flow from morning till night with an eyeshadow base on. The product wears around 5-6 hours on my normal eyelids without the base. After that it gradually fades. The eyeshadow doesn’t crease.

Now let’s talk about each shade in detail

BOW

It’s a neutral beige and the lightest shade in the palette. It’s not highly-pigmented and has to be layered to achieve a nice payoff. It’s good for emphasizing the corners of the eyes and for use under the brows and as a blending shade. It’s perfect for evening out my eyelids for a nude makeup.

ORGANZA

It’s a shimmer pink and peach shade. It’s highly-pigmented and gives a good payoff, covering up my natural skin.

It’s good both for evening and daily makeup despite the big amount of shimmer. It layers well and blends out with ease.

RIBBON

It’s a classy matte pink. The pigmentation is medium. It layers quite easily, so it’s easy to achieve a good payoff.

GIFT BASKET

It’s a normal shimmering light-brown shade without any hint of orange. This shade is pigment-rich and gives a thick and even coverage. It’s one of my favorite shades in the palette.

GLITZ

It’s a deep gray shimmer hue with a blue undertone. The pigmentation is on top. The color is gorgeous and perfect for evening makeup and for trendy colorful lines.

CELEBRATE

It’s a complicated chameleon color that is changing from golden-brown to intense plum according to the lighting.

PAMPER

It’s a matte pink with a warm undertone. The pigmentation is low and the product coats after much effort. I use it quite rarely in eye makeup as a blending shade or to create a light daily makeup. However, it’s a perfect hue when used as a blush. It looks very gentle and blends out really well leaving a light and natural pigment on my cheekbones.

GATEAU

It’s a shimmering pink with a high pigmentation. The shade looks colder than ORGANZA in the palette, but they look very similar on my eyelids.

THE MAIL

It’s a warm light-brown, matte shade or rather sienna. The tone is complicated and looks incredible when combined with dark browns. It brings highlight to your makeup.

BOXED

This shade is the right matte taupe. It’s cold and has no hint of orange. The shade is perfect for eye makeup and for defining the eyebrows. The pigmentation is medium. It layers and blends out very well.

WRAPPED UP

It’s a matte color, which looks quite similar to the previous BOXED, but it looks absolutely different on my eyelids leaving a dark violet color. The pigmentation is medium.

NOIR

This shade is absolutely black and matte. You can create a smokey eyes look and classy lines with it. The shade is highly pigmented. It layers perfectly and blends out really well.

The eyeshadow in action

..............................

Here, I’ve applied PAMPER to my whole upper eyelid and a little bit of THE MAIL to the crease. The colorful line is made with the shade CELEBRATE. Also, I’ve used a white hue from another eyeshadow palette for the inner corner of my eye and under the brows.

..............................

This makeup is quite similar to the previous one, but it’s more vibrant. I’ve applied RIBBON to my upper eyelid and WRAPPED UP to my crease and the lash line of my lower lid. Sorry for the clumsy lines. It’s all about the bad eyeliner I have to use up.

..............................

Here, I’ve used BOW for my upper eyelid and under the brows and WRAPPED UP for my crease. After that I created the lines with the Bourjois black eye pencil. I especially love this makeup look.

..............................

The inner corner of my eye is emphasized with some white tone from another eyeshadow palette. Then I used BOW for my browbone, GATEAU for the middle part of my upper- and lower eyelid and BOXED for the outer corners of my eyes.

..............................

Here, I applied BOW to my upper eyelid and to the inner corner of my eye. + GLITZ as a line.

..............................

The shade BOW is used under my brows, ORGANZA in the inner corner of my eye, GIFT BASKET in the middle of the upper and lower eyelid and BOXED in the outer corner of my eye and crease.

..............................

As for the next look, I applied BOW to the inner corner of my eye, THE MAIL to the middle part of my upper eyelid and BOXED to the outer corner of my eye and lash line of my lower eyelid.

..............................

Now SMOKEY EYES: NOIR to the whole upper and lower eyelids + GLITZ to the upper eyelid and to the inner corner of my lower eyelid. Then I used BOW under my brows.

..............................

The shades from the inner to the outer corner of my eye: BOW, PAMPER, RIBBON and BOXED. The line is made with NOIR.

..............................

The next look: NOIR is applied as a line, as the upper wave and to the lower eyelid. BOXED is used as a blending shade for the wave. BOW is used for the inner corner of my eye, ORGANZA and GIFT BASKET for the upper eyelid. Plus, BOW is applied as a light streak between the lines.

..........SUMMARY...............

Pros:

➊ Awesome color range for any occasion

➋ Amazing staying power even without any eyeshadow base

➌ Splendid and highly-pigmented shimmer shades

➍ The eyeshadow layers and blends out well

➎ Stylish packaging with a big mirror

Cons:

➊ Some of the matte shades are not so properly pigmented

The Oh So Special eyeshadow palette is almost perfect for me and I use all of the shades daily. I apply some of them regularly, some of them less frequently, but I use them all still.

Bravo, SLEEK!
