I bought this palette in Sephora. You can also buy it from the official site for $39.
The first notable thing about it is the design. The box and the palette look identical.
The back of the palette has the shade names and colors on it.
There are 6 products, 4g each in the palette.
It’s said to be a highlighter and blush palette. But, for me, the shades PARANOID and PSA are more like contouring powders and KISS OFF and SCORE are great blushes, while the SPOTLIGHT and SIN are gorgeous highlighters of course.
The palette has a big mirror, as well as all other palettes from the brand. But here I don’t like the mirror because it distorts the image and I don’t use it.
So, let’s have a look at each shade.
KISS OFF
It’s a really soft and gentle pink color with a delicate and barely visible shimmer.
It’s easy to pick up with a brush, as well as blend out. It’ll flatter all fair-skinned girls. The shade has a cool undertone.
SCORE
Pink peach blush shade with golden shimmer infusion. It reminds me of the NARS Orgasm color. It’s pleasant and warm, perfect for the summer. It’s also nice to pick up and blend out.
In the swatches you can see the shades of the blushes for comparison.
PARANOID
I love the Urban Decay brand also because of their names of the products!
This shade is more like a bronzer. It’s beautiful but it requires good blending otherwise it’ll be too obvious on the skin. It’s a good bronzer shade with golden shimmer.
PSABronze golden-pink color. It’s nice as a blusher, highlighter, and a bronzer. But only if your skin is tanned. My skin is fair and it looks odd over me. But I can also use it as eyeshadows then.
In the picture, you can see the comparison of the shades Paranoid and PSA with and without a flash.
SPOTLIGHT
Beautiful highlighter with a light peach shade and golden shimmer. It’s really delicate on my skin and when I wear it nicely blended. But if you desire a more glowing finish, just pack it.
SINAnd the last one but the most important highlighter shade which gave the name to the entire palette. It’s a nude color with beautiful shimmer that is champagne.
But it managed to disappoint me a little, despite its glowing beauty.
You see, this highlighter accentuates my skin texture, which is so frustrating.
It’s so obvious on the skin that I have to blend it a lot. But it’s iconic, isn’t it?
In the pictures, a comparison of highlighters with and without a flash:
And now my experiments with the products on my face.
I decided to divide the products into two groups. The first one consists of light shades which are great for fair skin colors, KISS OFF, PARANOID, SIN. Where the KISS OFF shade is used as a blusher, PARANOID as a contouring powder and SIN is a highlighter. Here’s what I have:
The second group is with the SCORE as a blusher, PSA as a contouring powder and a bronzer and SPOTLIGHT as a highlighter.
Honestly, I tried my best when blending them out but still, I didn’t nail it.
My pale skin isn’t ready for such experiments. But I wanted to show you something new and applied the shades this way, even though my skin is pale. I really hope that this coming summer will make my skin tanned and beautiful, so I have time to play with these colors again.
And one more thing, in the end, I would like to compare this hyped SIN highlighter and with the BATHWATER color from the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette.
Have a look at the photos of swatches where I blended them out well:
These two look almost the same. Well, maybe the SIN shade is a little bit more pigmented and the BATHWATER is more like yellow-toned. But I want to assure you, you will not spot the difference on the skin.
So, if you have that palette, feel free to use that shade as a highlighter.
I don’t have to comment on the Urban Decay quality. It’s top notch! The pigmentation is always out of this world, so the products will go a super long way!
