Hi everyone!

I got this eye cream as a Christmas gift, which means I’ve been using it for 5 months now and can therefore share my honest opinion with you.

Main information:

1. Price: $48 for 28 ml. Should be used within 6 months after opening.

2. Packaging: a plastic jar with a screw lid. There was a protective foil in it. I find this kind of packaging really inconvenient for such a product, since it’s hard to scoop out a pea-sized amount.

3. A thick dense formula. It resembles a balm which melts when in contact with your skin. It has a light barely perceptible cosmetic fragrance.

4. Ingredients. By the way, this eye cream can be safely used by those who wear contact lenses.

-Avocado Oil: Helps to restore the natural moisture of the skin with natural sources of amino acid proteins, vitamins A, D, E, and potassium.-Cocoa Butter: Softens and lubricates skin.-Shea Butter: Protects skin from dehydration, restores skin's suppleness, and improves the appearance of dry skin.Water, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter / Shea Butter, Butylene Glycol, Tridecyl Stearate, Isodecyl Salicylate, Peg-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Persea Gratissima Oil / Avocado Oil, Isocetyl Stearoyl Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Dipentaerythrityl Hexacaprylate/Hexacaprate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Magnesium Sulfate, Phenoxyethanol, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Pca, Ozokerite, Methylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Disodium Edta, Copper Pca, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Zea Mays Oil / Corn Oil, Beta-Carotene.

5. Promises:

This luxurious eye cream gently moisturizes the eye area without migrating into the eyes. Perfect for use under eye makeup, it contains highly effective natural ingredients that provide essential daily hydration and protection. The eye area is left softer, suppler, and more youthful-looking.

6. How to apply:

Suggested Usage:-Apply gently with fingertip along the orbital bone, without pulling the skin-Tap delicately around eye area until you feel the quick-burst release of hydration.

My results:

About my skin: 30 years old, prone to dryness and dark under eye circles. There are little fine lines and occasional puffiness.

I’ve tried so many products by Kiehl’s, some of them I loved and kept using, some of them were totally useless. This eye cream, however, belongs to the first category. It’s one of my favorites when it comes to the eye area.

Application: It’s better to follow the above given advice and warm up the eye cream between the fingers to ensure its problem-free application. A minimal amount of the product is usually enough. I’ve been using it in winter and spring, that’s why I applied it in a rather thick layer overnight. Plus, there is a lot in the jar, and the shelf-life is only 6 months, so I had to use this cream in the nasolabial area and dry spots on the cheeks.

The eye cream doesn’t clump or cake, and is fine to use with makeup. It can provoke oiliness on the eyelids, though.

Moisturizing properties: Simply great. After application, my skin becomes smooth and elastic. Thanks to its melting texture, the eye cream soaks in quickly and doesn’t leave any sticky feeling or discomfort behind. My skin in the eye area is rather dry and thin, and it’s kinda difficult to find a suitable treatment. Kiehl’s turned out to be flawless in this case.

Nourishing: The eye cream delivers a soft feeling and diminishes dryness and tightness. It makes my skin miraculously smooth and nourished.

Reduces the fine lines: It really does, thanks to its moisturizing and nourishing properties. There is no long-term effect, but as long as I use it, I see the effect. The skin looks fresh and dewy, and tiny fine lines are invisible.

Dark circles: They don’t disappear. However, it was never promised that they would.

Spending: I’ve only spent like a quarter of the jar, and that’s after 5 months of use! I’d recommend you buy a smaller jar with 14 ml.

Also, I’d like to note that the eye cream doesn’t provoke any allergic reactions, itching or red spots, comedones etc.

So, it has the following pros:

  • intensive moisturizing
  • nourishing
  • a thick melting formula
  • it’s effective
  • a little bit goes a long way
  • can be used even on sensitive skin (that I can prove myself since it’s a torture to find a suitable eye cream)
  • great ingredients

Cons:

  • the packaging is inconvenient and unhygienic.

Definitely recommended! It’s a high quality product which does what it promises.
