Pros: even and healthy-looking color, good for makeup, mattifying, moisturizes, shrinks pores
Cons: not long-lasting, pricey

Hello everyone! Smile

Today I’m going to share my thoughts on the Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum. The distinctive feature of this product is that it can adjust itself to every skin type and understand its needs.

Damaged skin sends out distress signals. Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum understands these signals and delivers the appropriate ingredients to start visibly correcting the damage. If ingredients are not needed for a specific concern, they remain on call.

Targets multiple concerns, including:

Diminishing lines and wrinkles

Firming and lifting skin

Reducing dark spots and evening skin tone

Improving radiance and texture

Sounds great, huh? Smile The secret formula harnesses the power of 37 patents to deliver custom repair. It’s such a multitasking product.

I’ve used up my sample a few days ago, so now I can tell you my opinion about it.

General information

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum.

1. Volume: 30 ml

Country: UK

Expiration date: 24 months after unpacking

2. Packaging.

The product comes in a common plastic tube with a pump. The typical Clinique design is simple, without any frills. You can find all the necessary information on the packaging. The sample is no different from a full-size version.

3. Ingredients

Water, Isododecane, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polysilicone-11, Butylene Glycol, Ascorbyl Glucoside, PEG-10 Dimethicone, PEG-6, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Extract, Morus Nigra (Mulberry) Root Extract, Hordeum Vulgare (Barely) Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Cucumis Sativa (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Algae Extract, Plankton Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Sigesbeckia Orientalis (St. Paul’s Wort) Extract, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat Germ) Extract, Glycerin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Yeast Extract, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Ergothioneine, Whey Protein, Polysorbate 20, Micrococcus Lysate, Cholesterol, DI-C-12-18 Alkyl Dimonium Chloride, Salicylic Acid, Isohexadecane, Propylene Glycol Dicaprate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake, Caffeine, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein, Tocopheryl Acetate, Acetyl Glucosamine, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Dimethoxytolyl Propylresorcinol, Synthetic Fluorogopite, Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Tromethanmine, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium RNA, Squalane, Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, PEG-8, Lecithin, Hexylene Glycol, Acrylamide/Sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Tin Oxide, Disodium EDTA, Arabidopsis Thaliana Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Yellow 5, Red 4, Titanium Dioxide

4. The formula is lightweight, creamy and gel-like. The silicone is noticeable. The serum looks like evaporated milk and smells well, but not so strong as other Clinique products. The fragrance is very gentle and flowery.

5. Suits every skin type.

6. The serum may be used both morning and night. Moreover, you can apply it under your eyes.

Place two pumps into palm of hand. Apply all over your face in an upward motion. Apply remaining serum onto neck. Mornings, follow with sunscreen to maximize results.

My experience. Result.

About me: 29 years old, dehydrated skin with peeling and clogged pores. My skin constantly feels dry and taut.

I’ve been using this serum at night for a couple of weeks alongside another Clinique cream. I concentrated mostly on my fine lines (smile lines and forehead) and eye area.

Application: The product distributes easily and absorbs quickly leaving a lightweight protective film with no mask feeling. 4-5 pea-sized drops are enough to cover my whole face, so it goes a really long way.

It can also be paired with other products of different brands.

Hydration: It was not hydrating enough for me, therefore I also used a Clinique cream. The improvement was insignificant when combined with Clinique gel.

Fine lines: My deep wrinkles did not get better, so the serum was useless there. Smile lines were less visible after using the serum and cream together, but the effect disappeared after the first wash. No accumulation effect to be seen.

Pigmentation: My freckled skin was dull and uneven. I've noticed no whitening effect. Although, the color improved noticeably and my skin was smooth and silky due to the silicone, I guess, but the result disappeared right after the first facial wash.

The serum will do as a makeup base as well. Besides, it produces a matte finish and shrinks my pores. As I wrote above already, it doesn’t crease or conflict with other products.

I liked using it under my eyes, because they looked refreshed after. In addition, my fine lines were less visible and my skin looked better in general.

Pros:

  • a little goes a long way
  • evens out my skin
  • fragrance-free
  • a good moisturizer before applying makeup
  • doesn’t crease
  • doesn’t clog my pores
  • suits my eye area

Cons:

  • inefficient for dry and dehydrated skin
  • no accumulation effect
  • high price
  • temporary effect of smooth and even skin
  • doesn’t combat my fine lines.

I do actually recommend Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum. It does what it promises, though not so efficiently. I like that my skin looks better after the use.

Thanks for your interest in my review! Happy shopping Smile
