Hey!
Following my dream of dense, strong and voluminous hair, I bought two protein-enriched products from John Frieda. It’s high time to talk about the conditioner.
INFORMATION
Weight: 250 ml
Made in Germany
Designed for thin and weak hair.
Claims:
Fine hair lacks the protein necessary for strength and power to hold style. Unlike traditional conditioners, this clear conditioner features an innovative clear formula with Protein-Strength Complex. Without heavy ingredients, this volumising conditioner detangles and weightlessly absorbs into each strand without coating it. For a new level of volume and vitality.Safe for colour-treated hair.
CHARACTERISTICS ✾ INGREDIENTS
The conditioner comes in a transparent plastic bottle so you can track how much you have left. The design of Luxurious Volume Core Restore series shampoo and conditioner is the same.
The flip-flop lid locks the bottle, so you do not have to worry about the conditioner running out. It comes out without problems. There was no protective foil under the lid.
.
The conditioner is colorless. Its consistency is gel-like and rather dense. The swatch keeps its shape, as you can see in the photo below.
If I tilted the spoon, the conditioner would slowly run down. Very slowly. The formula is homogenous and without any particles.
The scent ... I did not like it that much. It smells of alcohol mixed with perfume. The scent is somehow similar to the scent of the shampoo, but the alcohol makes a huge difference. Funny. But fortunately, the smell doesn't linger on my hair.

APPLICATION ✾ RESULT
My hair is smooth, thin, volumeless, fluffy and with dry hair ends. I always dry my hair naturally and I do not style it.
What I normally expect from a conditioner: easy combing, smooth and soft hair, no sticking together and weighing down of my hair.
From this conditioner, I wanted to get the promised volume, as well as thickening. Plus, I used both shampoo and conditioner at the same time for two months.
Application
I applied the conditioner after the shampoo, onto clean and wet hair. I spread it all over the entire length, paying attention to the hair ends. And then I rinsed it off with warm water.
A little bit goes a long way. For one application, the amount of a teaspoon is enough.
After 2 months the shampoo was over but I was only halfway through the bottle of the conditioner. In the picture, the red arrow shows how much of the product is left.
How application feels
Spreading the conditioner on my hair feels weird. Maybe it's because of the gel-like formula. Also, it feels like the conditioner absorbs into my hair.
After it’s rinsed off, my hair is knotted. It feels more tight, as if I have a nice ponytail
Result
On towel-dry hair:
And here I used the shampoo without the conditioner:
The difference is obvious. My fingers slide more easily through the hair, but the hairbrush still encounters small knots. In such cases, I always want to use a moisturizing spray, but no, an experiment is an experiment.
This is how my hair looks dried and combed:
The result is actually not that bad: my hair is smooth, even a bit shiny. It does not look like stuck together or weighted down. But there is no volume to be seen. However, when I compare it with the ‘only shampoo’ photo, the difference is clearly visible.
But the result is only visual. When I touch my hair, it feels dry and static, even after an anti-static hair brush. Voila!
Next time I used the moisturizing hair spray and hair oil.
The effect lasts for about two hours. Then, my hair starts looking as though I haven’t washed it for days.
Where is the volume, density and strength it promised? Dreadful…
The John Frieda Luxurious Volume Restore Restore Conditioner has caused no irritation or itching.

CONCLUSION : I used this conditioner for two months and I didn’t notice any improvement like thickening or more volume, and I needed hair sprays and other treatments to make my hair look decent. When I ran out of the shampoo I stopped using this conditioner as well because it’s totally useless.
