Hi ladies!
I’d like to share with you my ‘spectacular’ experience with the Unicorn Hair hair dye from Lime Crime.
I have light and long hair and sometimes miss the riotous hair experiments of my youth. However, I’m not ready to change my style and hair cut completely, because if I don’t like the results, it will take me a really long time to let my hair grow back again.
So, the product under review helped me to tame my restless mind that was striving for some changes.
Meet the Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Full Coverage Hair Color:
I bought it on the official website for $12 when there was a sale. The full price is $16. I’ve been waiting for a while till I get it and here we are… Now I have this long-awaited plastic tube with 200 ml of the incredibly vibrant cherry-red hair dye in the shade Leeloo in my hands.
There was only a protective upper lid that prevented me from returning to my youth days. I removed it quickly and saw this…
I applied this hair dye to my hair with my hands, without any fear that the jaw-dropping pigment would soak into my skin. It turned out that there was really nothing to be afraid of. After I took a shower and washed my hands a few times, my skin returned to its initial healthy look.
I decided to dye only the lower part of my hair.
I didn’t know how to get the desired effect and decided to let my own hair dyeing experience be my guide.
I tried to distribute the color evenly using a hair brush with a narrow row of bristles. However, it didn’t work, because the brush stuck in my hair.
I let the hair dye set for about an hour and washed it off. It seemed like I’d been washing it off my hair forever… The process lasted really long.
When the water that was dripping from my hair was finally pale, I could straighten my back and finish this process. And I was wrong there, because the design of my towel was complemented with random bright-red stripes.
Blowing my hair dry, I was excited at the thought to see my new hair. However, my excitement was fading every second, when I saw it in the mirror. I was so underwhelmed. As a result I had something indiscernible on my hair. There was nothing like the unicorn hair or anything close to the color I had in the package.
Well, yes, I know everything, but this pale ‘thing’ couldn’t even apply to my hair evenly! The thing is that I can dye my hair properly, you can take it from me. If you carry it out somehow better, please teach me this magic.
The color starts disappearing right after the first wash. I don’t have any gripes here, because it’s not a permanent hair dye actually. At the moment I still have the color in my hair, even though I’ve washed it 4 or 5 times already. But the result is nothing amazing.
Now I have to decide if I should spend another evening and try to get better results with this hair color or toss this tub into the garbage and experiment with other products.
I would neither recommend not talk you out of this product, because my opinion is subjective. As far as I’m concerned, it didn’t live up to my expectations...
