Like many other girls, each month I light my deep roots. I fight yellow pigment on a daily basis and I’m on a permanent lookout for a perfect hair color. Today I’ve tried the MATRIX SOCOLOR beauty Ultra.Blonde, shade UL-P(pearl).
What does the product say:
Ultra.Light Blondes: for maximum lightening and additional toning on levels 6 and lighter.
What do we have:
My roots are deep of a light brown color. My natural level is 6, then 9-10 with some golden shade. Unfortunately, I haven’t done the BEFORE picture.
I didn’t dare to use 12% oxidant and mixed 9% with a half of the tube of this MATRIX SOCOLOR hair color (45 ml of the hair color and 90ml of the oxidant).
The consistency was rather thick of gray color and with an unobtrusive smell.
After that, I applied the hair color on my roots. I have to notice that my scalp didn’t react negatively, even though there are some products which make it itchy for about a week on.
After 45 minutes, I washed my hair and dried it out.
I was so glad to see the outcome! My roots looked really natural and so blond. The color doesn’t require any additional toning.

The price is so affordable. I bought it for $7. And by the way, the tube has 90ml, while many others have only 60ml at the same time.

Upgrade:
It’s been more than a month already since I colored my roots, so it’s time to do it again. This time I used MATRIX SOCOLOR beauty Ultra.Blonde again but in the shade UL-A+ (ash +).

And I got such an ash shade. I like it even more than the previous pearl one. In the photo, it somehow looks lighter, but in reality it’s a tad darker and not so off-white and paper-like. So nice!

By the way, this time I also bought the 9% oxidant, because I read somewhere that a hair color and an oxidant must be from the same brand.
However, I haven’t seen any difference. So, I conclude that the brand of the oxidant doesn’t play any role.

Longevity
Within two weeks the color starts leaving my hair. I wash it every day by the way. And after that, there appears that yellow pigment which I cancel out with special shampoos.

One more upgrade
I was using this hair color for 6 months, applying it each 3-4 weeks onto my roots. And unfortunately, I had to turn it down, because of my scalp irritation. I felt fine during the process and the next day my scalp really was itching. I tried to use some solutions for scalp protection but they weren’t much of a help.
I feel very sorry, saying goodbye to this Matrix hair color because it used to give me the purest blonde color out of all the ultra-blondes which I’ve tried. I won’t take off stars, but will keep on looking for my perfect hair color.
