I always try something new and cool when it comes to hair care. Lately the products by the American brand OGX have become very popular and I definitely decided to try out something by the brand to see if it is worth the hype.
I bought the full sized bottle with the shampoo for almost $8.
I opted for the shampoo with collagen and biotin. I know that biotin is sometimes used as a way some think they'll see results on their hair and I don’t believe that the biotin in the ingredients of a shampoo will have a dramatic effect. From a shampoo I need proper cleansing and nothing supernatural.
The design of the product is very beautiful: purple bottle with a golden top cap.
The shampoo is nicely scented. The floral scent lingers to my hair and stays there for some time. The shampoo itself is of a tender light purple color with a pearl casting.
It’s thick in consistency.
Water (Aqua), Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Biotin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Ethyltrimonium Chloride Methacrylate/Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein Copolymer, Polyquaternium-10, Glycol Stearate, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Laureth-4, Laureth-23, Citric Acid, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Violet 2 (CI 60725).
Nothing criminal here. The only thing I don’t actually get is why they decided to infuse the shampoo with some silicones. I understand it when they put it in a mask or conditioner but not a shampoo...
The shampoo cleanses my hair and scalp well giving it no squeaky result. When I wash my hair with this product, I feel that it’s very smooth. Because of those silicones I presume. My husband sometimes uses this shampoo too and says that after the wash his hair is easy to comb (boys do not usually use hair conditioners so he has nothing to compare with).
My experience with the OGX Thick & Full Biotin & Collagen Shampoo is positive. My scalp is sensitive and prone to dryness but the product didn’t affect it negatively. I also think that my hair has become a little bit more voluminous at the roots so, I’m delighted with the product. I pair it with the conditioner and next time I’ll write a review of it too.
I recommend the shampoo if the price tag is not an issue for you.
Thanks for reading my review!
