I bought this mask because of my curiosity. Well I know body scrubs, and I know body masks but a scrub doubled up with a mask sounded strange to me. I love body scrubs, they are essential to me. I don’t feel clean if I didn't use a scrub in the shower. Usually I use them 2-3 times a week.
So, about the product:
Place of buying: Sephora, Spain
Price: € 9.34
A photo of the product:
It is infused with papaya extract and clay. I was especially tempted by the clay since I have oily skin and my pores clog quickly if I don’t take proper care of them.
Product promises:
With a two-in-one formula for ladies who want to de-clutter their bathrooms, this dual purpose scrub/mask (which features a delicate powdery fragrance) is massaged into damp skin to eliminate dead skin cells. It can also be applied as a mask to dry skin: in one minute, the skin is purified and impurities are eliminated. The perfect way to achieve that “new skin” feel!
Consistency-wise the product is thick with rather big exfoliating particles. The scent is chemical a bit, but I think this is how papaya and clay mixture smells.
To start to getting to know this product, I decided to use it as a mask. Right after the first application I understood that if I continue using it as a mask, it’ll be finished within 3-4 uses. The spending of the mask is huge! To cover my body entirely I needed almost a third of the tube. I applied the mask on my skin, waited for a minute and massaged it off. My skin was soft, pleasant to the touch and that’s all. After using a usual scrub, what’s the sense of using it as a mask?
Sadly enough but for me this mask turned out to be a sales pitch and nothing else.
The next time I decided to use it as a scrub. And I can say you this: as a scrub I love this product way more! I liked the effect it gave and that effect was even better than after the mask use.
This product has the right to live on your bathroom shelf. The only gripe of mine is the quality of the particles to it. I’m more into rougher textures (my faves are coffee and salt body scrubs). But for those who love mild exfoliation this product will be really good.
As for me, I won’t repurchase.
I gave the Sephora Express body Scrub & Mask a go and I’m done.
