I was waiting for this summer for so long! And I’m really happy that it’s hot outside now, but the only thing that upsets me is that my makeup doesn't want to stay on well and my forehead shines with oil. Yeah, blotting papers seem to be helpful, but still not for a long time, you know. A mattifying cream doesn’t work over my skin at all.
I was hoping that this Absolute New York Matte Makeup Setting Spray will really help me out, because it promises:
a long lasting and instant powder finish.
A weightless mattifying setting mist that instantly latches onto, and locks down makeup while controlling excess sebum – for a fresh, just-applied finish that lasts all day!
Sounds amiable, isn’t it? And really in place!
The price for a 2.02 fl oz / 60 ml bottle is $8.95
How to use: (rather standard scheme for a setting spray)
Step 1:
Close eyes & hold Spritz 2 Fix 8-10 inches away from you face.
Step 2:
Simultaneously spray & sweep mist across face in “X” or “T” motion.
Step 3:
Let it dry completely.
I want to tell you that I don’t wear heavy makeup on my face. My everyday makeup game consists of a mattifying cream, lightweight foundation and a powder, which I usually apply with a brush. My skin looks more or less good within the first 5 minutes after makeup application and then my forehead sweats because of the heat. By the way, there’s no need to blame my foundation, because my forehead still sweats, even if I don’t wear any makeup at all.
I’ve been using this spray for a week now (it’s the 7th day today), hoping to see amazeballs results.
The very first day when I started testing this product the weather was rather cool and not so tiring. And the spray worked good, I’d say. My forehead looked oily only by the afternoon.
But unfortunately, when the heat came back, the product stopped working, so I can assess it only with three stars.
Of course my forehead doesn’t look the mattest in the world,
before
but within 2 hours (10 am) it looks like this:
within 2 hours
I’m tired, I can’t see any point in using it anymore. So I have to go back to my blotting papers again.
Alas, I can’t recommend this spray.
