Pros: expensive glow, it doesn’t accentuate skin texture, rather big size, splendid package
Cons: price tag

Pre-story:

Now all the beauty bloggers are singing praises to the Anastasia Beverly Hills new launches, especially to the highlighter, collaborated with the beauty blogger Amrezy, (who actually played a role in naming the product) and to the Soft Glam eyeshadow palette. Inevitably, after watching swatches online, I couldn’t stay calm anymore, because I desperately needed the highlighter and the palette for me!

Today, I’ll tell you about the highlighter because I wasn’t actually impressed with the palette.

Brief info:

Made in Italy,

Weight 9g

Price $28

Outer appearance:

The product was packed with a classy black cardboard box with a star print on it. Inside there was a compact with the highlighter. It’s black and has a mirrored top (in the photo you can see the sky reflected there). Open the compact and voila, here it is! The highlighter truly looks like a gold bar. By the way, the packaging somehow reminds me of the Tom Ford cosmetics.

Texture and swatches:

It’s thick, yet silky texture-wise. Not at all powder and it never dusts. I’ve never seen such a texture before. It isn’t a problem to pick up the formula with a brush and the color payoff is always fantastic! You have to be very careful with this product, because even the slightest touch of the brush will already give your skin a visible glow. But this glow always looks noble. I can’t say that it shows my skin texture much.

Have we already seen it somewhere before?

A great deal of beauty junkies say that the Amrezy highlighter really reminds them of the Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm. They can either call it a dupe, a swap or analogue, but I don’t agree. Yes, the products might look similar color-wise, but the Mary Lou Manizer has a more muted glow. You’ll have to pack it a lot to make it look the same as the Amrezy highlighter glow. Moreover, the Mary Lou is more powder and chunky texture-wise. In this photo, the Mary Lou is applied on the left and Amrezy is on the right.

So, that’s it. Under the bottom line I can say the following, if I were to put it shortly: the product is expensive and beautiful. But if I were to say simply - this is a product for those who loves highlighters and will willingly splurge on them without any further ado.

Have a nice and pleasant glow! Smile
