Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel has been my Holy Grail product for a few years already. Since the natural looking, thick and bushy eyebrows are trendy now, the range of brow products is just enormous on the marker. Different gels and shadows are popular especially among the girls with unruly and sparse brows. And alas I’m the one among those almost “browless” girls.
Every morning I have to create my brows, but no matter how much I try to make them look as natural as possible, they still don’t look decent unless I set them with my brow gel.
At this very moment I’ve found my Holy Grail product that I’m not planning to change. And this is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel.
I decided to finally write this review after receiving my new package, so all the photos were taken of the new packaging.
Without any further ado I want to speak about its use. The product goes a really long way. I was using it for more than a year when I noticed that it was almost used up and I hurried to order the new one. It arrived to me in February and only now (the end of June) I finally used up the old gel up and opened the new package.
Should I say it one more time that I use this product everyday!
BUT: On the packaging the manufacturer states that the product expires within 6 months. I was using it for way longer and I haven’t noticed any changes to the formula or bad reaction on my skin.
1. Packaging
The tube with the gel is packed in a black cardboard Anastasia Beverly Hills classic box. There’s all the needed information here.
2. Tube
Inside the box there’s a reflecting silver tube containing the gel. It looks beautiful, minimal and expensive. I like the fact that the tube has some weight, but I can’t say that it’s heavy. This one was 7.93 g (0.28 oz). The tube associates with metal, not cheap plastic.
On the tube itself there’s the brand lettering and product’s name. And here comes the first disadvantage as all these letters disappear with time which doesn’t look pretty a few weeks later.
Of course if needed you can always wipe all the lettering off yourself and have a simple silver tube which won’t be scratched or chipped even in your beauty bag with all other cosmetic products.
3. Brush wand
When you screw-on the top (which closes tightly with a click) you will see the brush wand with the gel on. All the bristles of the brush are coated with gel and there’s no excess amount on it. The brush is of good quality materials, it’s thick and it hasn’t changed an inch after a year of use. Besides, it doesn’t shed, which is also very important.
The gel inside is absolutely clear. But if we compare the old and the new brushes, we’ll see that the gel becomes cloudy with time as it catches all the brow products I apply. I always use Anastasia Beverly Hills – Dipbrow Pomade which leads to a tad cloudy color of the gel. But it isn’t even a disadvantage for me since I use these products together. The product was still looking good even when I applied it to my clean brows.
I presume that you can avoid gel clouding if you wash your brush wand at times, but I didn’t bother to do it.
4. Use
As I’ve already stated, I use this product together with Dipbrow Pomade (my color is Dark Brown) by Anastasia Beverly Hills as well.
Sometimes when I’m not in the mood for war paint, and the only thing I need is to set my brows and keep them up in place, I apply only this gel and that’s all.
In the photo, the difference is barely seen as on the LEFT I’ve already combed my brows up, and on the RIGHT I set them with the gel. But after setting I can be sure that my eyebrows will stay in place during the whole day.
5. Price
The only thing I want to say here is that you should keep in mind that ABH is a professional cosmetic brand, so it’s silly to expect a budget-friendly price of her products.
$22
In summary, I want to highlight once again that a brow gel is an essential part of the trendy brow make-up nowadays. And since Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel does its job pretty well, it has automatically become my go to product.
