Matte lipsticks era has almost gone and now it’s time to use lacquered lipsticks and lip glosses so to keep up with the latest trends. Well, let’s try it out! And today I’ll be using this Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss.

Packaging: black plastic tube with a see-through bottom. I find it nice because I can see how much of the formula is left inside. The top cap has the branded logo on it.
The applicator is actually a soft sponge which is a little bit bent that ensures better application all over my lips and edges.

Smell: merely detectable perfume smell
Texture: gelly with a slight hint of a sticky finish
Application: When I apply the product on my lips, it feels like it is covering them fully. It doesn’t streak, feather or bleed. However, I have to be very careful with the inner corners of my lips because the product tends to be gathering there.
In the pictures, you can see the product applied on top of my MAC lipstick in the color Sin. I tried to mimic the NOIR ET BLANC show makeup.
Longevity: 1-2 hours
Spending: One can barely use it every day so the product will go very far. If you’re very much into the bold and bright lip makeup, it’ll go the average way with you.

My thoughts: Chanel is Chanel no matter what. I love this lip gloss, that’s obvious. It feels lightweight on my lips and the coverage isn’t tacky or sticky at all. It doesn’t dry out my lips but hydrates and nurtures them. The finish is glossy and lacquered. It’s awesome! As for the shade, it’s really unique. I mean it even seems black when I first applied it but then the coverage seems to be smoothing on my lips that results into a ripe cherry finish color-wise.
It can be used alone of course without any toppers or products underneath. But the finish will be different then. I guess not everyone will like it. Besides, I’m sure that many of you won’t be ready to see such finish on your lips. =)

The bottom line:
It’s never a must-have for everyone, taking into account the shade of it. As for the quality, it’s top-notch. All your demands will be met with this product and the brand.
