Coco Chanel: ‘A woman who doesn't use cosmetics has too high an opinion of herself.’
Hello!
When someone presents a beauty junkie with a bright Chanel lipstick, the beauty junkie is more than just happy.
This February I was presented with a beautiful lipstick in the No. 84 Dialogue shade.
I was so excited to try it out, because I hadn’t yet used anything from the brand.
Right up, I’d like to say that I’m in love with the ROUGE COCO SHINE. It’s amazing and definitely worth purchasing!
Upon taking it in my hands, I thought that it was a sample, because the package and the tube looked pretty small, but it was not and had the standard 3 g of the product.
It comes in a black plastic tube, where all fingerprints are visible. Also, it has a golden part in the middle. The tube closes with a click safely.
In addition, there is the overlapping double ‘C’, the usual Chanel logo on the cap.
The lipstick has a flat and a little bit rounded tip, which is a significant plus for me. It’s convenient to use.
The smell is typical for the brand. It has a hardly perceptible rose scent. It won’t put you off, because it’s not-in-your-face.
I can feel it just a few minutes on my lips.
The texture is lightweight and gel-like. It reminds me more of lip balms and chapsticks than of lipsticks.
The color is thought to be warm red, but it has a cold undertone in reality, which is clear from the swatches on my hand.
It has no shimmer to it, but has a dewy finish.
If using this shade on top of a cold red lip liner, it will look warmer and brighter in the sun and more like muted in the shade.
The wear: The lipstick is very comfortable to wear. I mean it. The texture reminds me of a lip balm. It glides over my lips very well and moisturizes them in a blink. The shade I have has a pigment, so I get a vibrant color right in the first go. When layering, you can get an amazing deep payoff and a pretty dewy finish.
As for the flakey bits… yes, it accentuates them, which is noticeable in the pictures.
It’s not really that visible in real life, but I cannot but mention this peculiarity. The peeling gets even more noticeable in about an hour and a half after application, when the color begins to fade.
It’s not that big of a deal for me and I still dearly love this lipstick.
It stays put and doesn’t bleed as opposed to many other lipsticks I have.
It looks vibrant and moisturized on my lips no more than an hour and a half. OK then. On the plus side, it doesn’t dry out my lips.
Use: I won’t say that it goes a really long way, but it’s ok.
Summary:
The number of times tested: more than 20 times.
Got this lipstick as a gift.
