Hello there!

Recently my lipstick collection was filled with one more pearl - a lipstick from a starring makeup artist, who makes many Hollywood stars shine bright with beauty, walking down the red carpet.

I was looking at it for a long time but I always felt too greedy to splurge on it so much, taking into account that I already don’t have enough room for my present cosmetics. And it was destined for me to save some loyalty points from Sephora and buy this cherished golden Matte Revolution lipstick in the shade Walk Of Shame.

According to Charlotte herself, she was inspired by Christina Hendricks and Margot Robbie when she was creating this lippie.

Well, I don’t know… In my book, it looks more like from Game of Thrones and Cersei Lannister. :)Besides, there’s a really exotic ingredient there, which I heard of for the first time - Lipstick Tree extract. So chic!

So, I’m a little bit carried away, let’s get back to the point.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution

Weight - 3.5g

Made in Italy

Price - $34

Ingredients:

Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Trimethylolpropane Triisostearate, Dimethicone, Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax/Cire Microcrystalline), Polyethylene, Polybutene, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Dicalcium Phosphate, Ethyl Vanillin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-t-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Orchis Mascula Flower Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, BHT, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tin Oxide, [May Contain/Peut Contenir (+/-): Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red 6 (CI 15850), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 191140), Carmine (CI 75470)].

This is what Charlotte says about the product:

Walk of Shame is a beautiful, berry tinted rose for antique chic, perfect for Christina Hendricks and Margot Robbie.

Exclusively enriched with Lipstick Tree extract which protects lips and is a natural antioxidant, and Orchid Extract which soothes and hydrates for a soft, buildable cashmere finish. Layer and build the color to create the intensity you want, from a light-as-air matte stain to dramatic full-velvet coverage.

✅ The lippie was packed with a touch-cover.

✅ All the info was embossed with golden letters. That looks posh. I can see that the cover is also something that we have to pay for but as a result, it all goes to the trash after purchasing.

I understand that such packages make the product more sophisticated but I wish it was cheaper and simpler.

✅ In the box, there’s the lippie of a rose gold color. Magnificent. If you prefer touching-up in crowded places, this babe will steal all the attention.

✅ The stick is unusually slanted here and it’s very easy to outline my lips with it, even without any lip liners, even if your lips are young and never injected.

✅ It applies with a semi-sheer and moussy coverage, gliding over my lips, filling in all the fine lines. It neither defines flaking skin or hides it.

It doesn’t want to be packed. In the swatch, I applied 3, 2 and 1 layers. The difference is visible but only in the color payoff. It doesn’t affect the thickness.

✅ Since the coverage is sheer and lightweight, it doesn’t conceal my natural lip pigment. If you want to go overboard, then I recommend you to fill in your lips with a lip liner beforehand.

I didn’t use a lip liner in all the pictures below, so you’ll see what I mean.

(The walls in my house are green, that’s why my complexion looks green-ish as well. I didn’t filter it, so as not to change the color of the lippie).

✅ Unless you want to go overboard, the lippie doesn’t require filling in. It doesn’t budge or feather.

✅ The aroma is sweet and vanilla.

✅ The finish is velvet-matte. However, it’s enriched with light reflecting microbeads, which make it appear satin in macro, though it doesn’t look so in life.

✅ The coverage is light and it’s so comfortable to wear. I almost don’t detect it and it doesn’t dry out or tighten my lips.

✅ And even though the product is said to be long-wearing, it stays hardy for more than 2-3 hours. It won’t live through a meal but will still be on your lips and cups after drinking tea.

✅ It fades delicately, as though sinking it, leaving some pigment behind.

At the same time, this coverage is simple to touch-up. No patches or stripes will appear.

✅ The product doesn’t crease, it doesn’t accentuate my lip texture and it never budges into a white film.

According to Charlotte, this formula is skin-friendly because of the Lipstick Tree extract. Honestly, I haven’t noticed any significant skin-care or moisture.

The removal isn’t troublesome. You can wash it off even with a cotton round. The pigment doesn’t sit into my skin and doesn’t tint it.

I usually don’t welcome high-end lipsticks because the price hardly ever lives up to the quality. Here, I don’t even want to be picky.

The only gripe of the product is actually its price.

Though, $34 isn’t that much yet still cheaper than Dior or Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, and others.

With a clear conscience, I give this Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution its deserved 5 stars and recommend it for purchasing.

Thanks for your attention!
