Chocolates-chocolates, today we are here to talk about a true discovery for a sweet-tooth, L'Oreal Les Chocolats Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in the color 852.
At first, I was attracted by its outwards appearance and yeah, I’m too weak when I see long-wearing liquid products. But when I opened it up and sniffed that aroma, Gosh, I lost my mind.

Housing: it’s a flawless matte square topped tube with a golden caption.
It’s eye-catching and it reminds me of the fall season. I want to hold it in my hands and touch it all the time. No frills about it here, just minimalism and beauty.
The top cap is beige, while the body of the tube is color-coded with the product inside.
The applicator is a right leaf-shaped, just like of the Maybelline lipstick.
It’s nice and I find it comfy to line my lips with it. The stopper works fine and leaves the right amount on the sponge, just enough to put on my both lips.
Aroma: it’s unbelievable. This is the best part of the lipstick! Girls, it really smells of CHOCOLATE! IT ISN’T CHEMICAL but pretty natural dark chocolate smell.
I want to eat it all the time, or at least lick from my lips. I can detect it when I apply the product on my lips, but I don’t feel it throughout the day, which is so disappointing. Sometimes, it seems like I’ll sniff it out to the fullest one day.
Texture: it’s rather runny and comfortable to distribute on my lips. No streaks, patches or splotches. Ideal coverage, ideal contour. Am I in paradise?
The only gripe (if it is possible to count it as a “gripe), is that the product dries out too long. Usually, such textures dry out within 1 minute, while here it takes about 5 or maybe even more. But I adore it even before setting because it looks like a liquid milk chocolate on my lips then. So yummy…
Shades, there are 12 of them in the collection and it was difficult to stop on one: they all look so fall-like, seductive and warm. I liked several at once, dark vinous one, for instance, but still stopped on the #852 Choco.
Sometimes it looks gray and cool, sometimes it appears warm and brown. I adore this play of lights. It flatters any makeup and my mood all the time. It’s very deep-toned and interesting.
Even though I used to dread such “dead” shades, this one seems perfect. It is apt for cat eyes, smokey eyes or nude shades so beautifully.
I wish I didn’t have a desire to sniff or lick it all the time.
Staying power: it’s excellent, for 16 hours or more. It can be removed only with oil-based makeup removers, so don’t even try to torture your lips with micellar water. It is transfer-proof and so long-wearing. Sometimes I can wear my pink lipstick over it, creating an ombre effect. This way, it fades quicker, though still stays put on my lip edges.
Performance: the product is super comfortable. The finish isn’t dead matte and it doesn’t tighten my lips at all (I always use a lip balm overnight). No tacky feel or anything. The finish isn’t matte, it’s more like velvet with a hint of hydration. I love it!
