Hello there! Recently, Clarins presented their new product, Ombre Satin Eyeshadow. Even though I’m not a fan of liquid eyeshadows, I still decided to buy this cream product.

Currently, they offer 3 shades to choose form:03 Purple Rain (mine)04 Baby Blue Eyes
05 Green Mile
I think that with time, they’ll expand the color collection.
So, let’s get it started. The product is packed with a round transparent glass jar with a golden screw-on top cap.
The bottom has the name of the shade.

In my opinion, this packaging is a fail for cream eyeshadow. It isn’t hermetic and the formula will dry down too quickly. Even now I can see that my product started to dry out because the formula clumps when I apply it. I tried to take a picture of those tiny clumps.

The new product was covered with a matte film. When I took it off, the product started to sparkle beautifully under lights.

For me, I went for the shade #03 Purple Rain. I can’t say that it’s unique of anything but it’s definitely interesting with a beautiful red casting which reveals its true beauty in the lamplight.

You can vary the color payoff, from a seamless smokey finish to the deeply-toned color.

Application: For me, the best way to apply it is to use my fingertip. However, forget about hygiene then. Thanks to the warmth of my finger, the texture melts a little and becomes more pliant. That ensures better blending. Unfortunately, you’ll have to forget about this way if your nails are long.

So, I have to go for a synthetic brush application. This way, the product is less pliant and rather difficult to blend out.

The staying power is excellent. I apply the product over my powdered eyelids or prep them with a fair powder eyeshadow FOX from the Urban Decay eyeshadow palette.

Towards the end of the day, the product creases. When it’s sweltering, the staying power is still great. In the picture, you can see it within 10 hours of wearing.

Honestly, it was rather odd to find out its staying power which is so great. You never expect that from a cream product. Here it’s an undoubtful advantage.
Removing: The product is easy to remove. I don’t have to try hard.
Even though the product has several pros, I still can’t recommend it for purchasing because of its failure packaging.
The product will dry down before I’ll use it up. Yes, it’s still an option to dilute it with Duroline but what’s all this mumbo-jumbo for?
