Clinique High Impact Mascara - review

Hello everybody!

The question in the headline of the review is not put there just for effect. Once I met a friend after such a long time apart and heard her surprised saying “Have you had your eyelashes laminated?” I was stunned. Why did she think so?

And then I remembered, hurrying to calm my friend down, as I had my new bought mascara on my lashes, which has already become my new love - legendary High Impact Mascara by Clinique.

So, today I’ll start my review like this (which isn’t typical for me) about this truly best-selling product.

1.The packaging. Clinique aren’t famous for bright designs in the products, that’s why I love it and can’t bring myself to love Yves Saint Laurent, for example.

Here everything is very simple:

A light carton box with the name of the brand and its description on the back. The mascara itself is in a black (but if you look attentively in dark-green) tube with shimmering dots and a shining top, like many other Clinique products have. At the top of the brush there is a letter C, the first letter from Clinique.

No matter how surprising it can be, I think that neat design is the reason why I love Clinique so much. I want to find the most visible place on my beauty table to put my Clinique products - and look at them in admiration, sighing. I want to use them and love them not just for the packaging, but for the contents too.

5 Color. The mascara has two colors, black and brown. I’ve got black, as I don’t understand any other colors. How can they put mascara of blue or green color?

6.Brush To tell you the truth, it’s cool. It isn't trying to show off or be original, there are no curves and it is not difficult to make out thick and thin parts. It’s straight and as a result so easy and comfortable to work with (despite many new and fashionable exemplars).

I will not forgive myself if I don’t mention anything about the stopper of the mascara. We don’t usually appreciate such thing unless we are faced with too much or not enough mascara on the brush. High Impact mascara gives as much as you need.

6. The Clinique High impact Mascara is 100% hypoallergenic, with no perfume in and is ophthalmologist tested. That’s why the girls with sensitive eyes (me included as I wear contact lens) do not need to worry about the reaction. The product does not cause allergy, reddening, irritation or any other unpleasant things that could appear from using on your eyelashes.

Another plus to my favorite brand is that it takes care of sensitive eyes and skin.

Get instant lash drama with High Impact Mascara. Pump up the volume and length of your lashes for a look that appears lusher, plusher, and bolder. This mascara coats your lashes in pure, deep color for an irresistible lash look. A richly-pigmented mascara that instantly volumizes, lengthens, and defines each and every lash.

I’m not in full agreement with these promises. The High impact mascara doesn't give such a supernatural volume, but gives good length and definition. That’s why my friend asked me about lamination, I think. The eyelashes look long and neat, with no clumps or super volume..

If you want a dramatic look, colossal volume and a real smoky-eyes effect, you’ll need to focus your attention on another mascara. High Impact is perfect for everyday use - it has natural finish and looks neat and good.

When applying the product in one layer you get long, beautifully separated lashes - Clinique won’t leave any clumps or spots on the eyelids. When applied in numerous layers you can see some stickiness, but show me any other mascara which doesn't do that? So I advise to apply it in one or two layers, that way it’ll show its best sides and main advantages.

The product is absolutely comfortable to wear. It isn’t hard on my eyes, which is what usually happens. I don’t feel the product on my eyelashes. During the day it doesn’t crumble, so I’m not worried about my makeup at all.

Consumption

The product is really economical. My mascara is more than a year old, and it is not close to running out. So, buying the product is absolutely profitable.

9 For many people this is a disadvantage but for me it’s a real advantage. High impact mascara is my first one that isn’t waterproof. Moreover, it removes with water in a move (in the photo I’ve got a cotton pad wet with water). Some of you can say “You won’t walk with it in the rain”. And I’ll answer “I don’t know how I lived without it before”. I find it so easy and convenient to go to shower, stand under the water and wash everything away. And of course the panda effect is eliminated.

11. Price - $17.50? Pricey you might think. For me no. There are cheaper ones and more expensive ones, and you always have an opportunity to choose any of them, as I did. Some of them I loved, some of them I hated.

All in all I come back to my unfussy, comfortable, easy to use one which gives the most natural finish, and of course I mean High Impact Mascara, which I don’t feel sorry I paid $17.50 for.
