It’s pretty hard to find a good matte lipstick that would look nice on the lips without drying them out or emphasizing flakey bits.
Clinique developed a matte range, called Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer with a revolutionary formula to target these needs.
The packaging is secure and compact. Half of the tube is made of matte and rubberized material of the same color as the product itself. The cap is silver and glossy.
The design is simple yet sleek.
The lipstick is nice to hold in my hands and have in my makeup bag.
The stick has a nice shape and the product is comfortable to apply.
The range is very wide, but I’ve chosen the fuchsia shade №04 Mod Pop to try first.
It’s noteworthy that any shade of the range will look exactly the same on your lips as well as in a stick.
Most of us got used to dry matte textures, but the range Pop Matte has a nice creamy and smooth texture. It includes a moisturizing primer that makes my lips feel very comfortable.
P.S. At the moment my lips are chapped and do not look perfect, but the lipstick is comfortable to wear and doesn’t emphasize my lip imperfections.
Also, it’s easy to apply. The formula is very soft, creamy and smooth, so it glides over my lips evenly and neither emphasizes my dry patches nor tightens my lips.
Moreover, it doesn’t bleed or settle into my fine lip lines. And the pigment comes off gradually.
The texture is intense, bright and highly-pigmented. The shade 04 Mod Pop is perfect in all respects. It applies smoothly, evenly and streak-free.
The color is vibrant, luscious and great for spring or summer. A single stroke is enough for the color to pop.
Such a shade refreshes my look amazingly well and makes me look healthy. In addition, it visually makes my lips look fuller.
I also loved that the sharp tip ensures precise application without even using any lip pencils or brushes.
The wear time is about 5-6 hours. It lasts through snacks and coffee well, but smears the surface of any cup or anything easily due to a lightweight texture.
The finish is half-matte and a bit dewy. Do not expect any totally matte coverage, because the texture is more like satin.
To remove the slight glow and dewy finish, you can just dab your lips with a dry tissue.
I’m utterly obsessed with both the shade as well as with the quality of the brush.
If you are looking for a half-matte finish and comfortable wear, I definitely recommend you try this.
After a while I purchased one more shade of this range. I was sold on the shade №14 Cute Pop right away. And it exceeded all my expectations!
It’s a muted dusty pink that looks great in almost any makeup.
The undertone is more cool than warm. I guess this shade is suitable for girls with any skin color.
This shade impressed me positively, because it has everything I’ve been looking for. It’s a versatile dusty pink that is incredibly comfortable to wear!
