To start, I was really underwhelmed by the matte range from ColourPop one day, but when I saw the photos of their satin lipsticks, I was hooked right away and couldn’t help but purchase some of them. Something inside me said: ‘you have to get your hands on it!’
So, the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip Lipstick
Packaging. The product comes in a plastic tube with holographic writing. Everything would have been great, if it didn’t fade too quickly or I would say extremely quickly. The good news is that the name of the shade is still present at the bottom of the tube.
The sponge applicator is very ‘brushy’ and not very handy for me. However, I can get the hang of any applicator, so I got used to this one too. If you are a newbie in this area, I advise you use a brush for applying.
Smell and texture. The texture reminds me of a mousse. Such lipsticks usually smell like vanilla and sweet scents, but this one is different. These lipsticks do not smell enjoyable. However, no smell or taste are perceptible on my lips after application.
I have 6 colors in my collection:
From left to right:
— Echo park — is a warm peachy nude perfect for girls with a yellow undertone.
— Alyssa — is a pink-beige nude. This shade will suit all skin types due to its neutral color.
— Littlestitious — is pink with a hint of white.
— Molly — is light-lavender.
— Prim — looks like wine in a tube. Also, it’s a dupe for Lime Crime Wicked or theBalm Adoring Lipsticks.
— Toolips — is a complicated color-tone. It’s kind of a chameleon shade ranging from dark-brown to plum.
What can I say about the performance of this product?
If you are tired of lipsticks that feel like clay on your lips and want to get a ‘lively’ finish that will last long, then you’ll definitely love this option. This product is highly-pigmented. It covers up some flakey bits on my lips and doesn’t bleed.
It transfers onto everything but doesn’t lose its color. The color range is so huge, that you can even be at a loss when choosing. All in all, I give 5 stars to these lipsticks and would like to try out some other tones.
