Hello, eyeshadow palettes junkies!

Eyeshadow palettes and highlighters are my all-time weaknesses. I can never pass by any new launch and this is what actually happened with me and this new Dose of Colors palette. I saw these shades in the promo, which looked like shimmering butter and applied so pigmented. But I don’t usually trust promos, that’s why I was a little bit nervous when I ordered this Desi & Katy Friendcation Eyeshadow Palette from Dose of Colors:

OUTWARD APPEARANCE

The palette shines bright with a myriad of sparkling beads in life. It looks like it was wrapped with a net material all over the surface, which is glowing and shimmering. Also, they give us a branded metal logo on it, which is golden and cute.

The material it’s made of is thick, it doesn’t collect any stains or go flimsy over time. I can say that the palette isn’t pleasant to the touch because it’s rough and rugged.

The back of the palette offers a sticker, which has all the info about the weight and names of the shades. I appreciate that the brand is cruelty-free.

SHADES:The palette comes with 10 shades in total, where 5 are matte and 5 metallic ones. Honestly, I have to confess that I bought this palette because of all those glistening colors because mattes here are rather plain and I can find them in my other palettes.

The texture, as well as the pigmentation of all the colors, is awesome. The metallics are out of this Universe for sure. They stand for their names and are well packed with pigments. They are creamy by touch, yet they’re powders. You won’t have to use your fingers to apply them because any brush also works so good.

The matte shades are also well packed with colors but I wouldn't say that Dose of Colors invented something new here. These are just good, silky and nice matte hues. They remind me of the Nabla products quality-wise.

Let’s have a look at every shade:

  • Basic

This shade is to set the primer and it’s a little bit darker than my natural skin tone. It’s well packed with pigments and I love applying different shades over it because it ensures nice blending:

  • Cheens

This is the darkest matte shade from the palette. It’s silky by touch, with good color kickback and in general, it’s shade is right. I love to deepen my crease with it, as well as wear in my outer corners. I don’t find it interesting for the mobile lid. It isn’t unique, though. I have some similar ones from Lime Crime and ABH MR.

  • Necessary

It’s warm-toned and so good for the crease. I also love applying it over my lower lids. It’s so silky, as many other matte shades from the palette. And very well pigmented. I use it for the crease and as a transition shade.

  • Dirty Money

My love!!! Shifting bog-olive shade which shifts with different colors, starting with yellow and finishing with a bright green. It’s so vibrant under daytime and evening lights! Gorgeous! The texture is creamy. This is important, the color is unique. I’ve never had it from any other palettes. It’s just awesome. So noble, sophisticated and intriguing.

  • A Moment

One more big love of mine. The color is shifting. It’s either blue or deep-toned purple. It’s massively pigmented and unbelievably pleasant by touch. This very shade always makes me recollect Natasha D. eyeshadows texture-wise.

This is the most beautiful blue shade in my life. Smile

  • Try Me

My third love! All the metallic shades are similar texture- and pigmentation-wise. This is such a deep-toned shade, which is so beautiful in my makeup.

  • Just a Kiss

This one is great for the mobile lid as the main color, as well as an accent. It’s just a real pressed glitter because it gives off so many glistening beads.

This is the only shade from the palette, which is a tad chunky.

  • Girl Bye

A color of a withered rose, which I use for the crease and all over my mobile lid.

  • Churro

The classy shade for the dark crease. It’s warm and perfect. I also love applying it over my lower lash line.

  • Game Over

This one is beautiful, though I don’t use it too often. I don’t get why they mixed glitter into the black color. It’ll work only for black smokey makeup, which I don’t welcome.

It’ll be all right for a bold and daring evening makeup.

Swatches:

All the shades are of excellent quality and they are definitely worth the money they cost. The metallic ones may fall out, that’s why I usually apply my eye makeup and only after that put on my foundation.

The matte shades don't crumble and in general, perform well.

The staying power of the metallic ones is till the moment I remove them. They stay pigmented and bold throughout wear.

MAKEUPS:

#1

Here the shade Cheens is starring, the one which is the darkest matte. At first, I set the primer with that basic shade, then I applied a mixture of two shades Churro and Necessary to the crease. I also applied the dark brown one all over my crease with a fluffy natural bristle brush. The shade Cheens applies and blends out with ease. It doesn’t stain or streak my skin and it takes me no more than 10 seconds to work out.

#2:

This makeup might look too bold for some of you but I feel free to wear it for my job. Here the Try Me shade is the main. I applied Just a Kiss as an accent, which is so gleaming. I worked out the crease with those two classy nude shades.

#3:

One more makeup with the red metallic one, which is solo here. This shade is perfection to apply. It’s well pigmented and so thick that I don’t even have to pack it. When it catches the light, it starts shining so beautifully.

#4:

I wanted to show you all the beauty of the gleaming Just a Kiss shade. This one also applies well. Here I prefer fingertip application because the brush doesn't apply it well and leaves on glitter only.

#5:

I can’t help but show you the Dirty Money shade in my makeup. I adore it under different lights. I can apply it either with my fingers or with brushes. Yes, it does fall out but I don’t find it as a problem.

#6:

This is my favorite makeup look, which I can't get enough of. The shade A Moment looks like liquid metal and shines unbelievably on my lids. This is the most shining one in the palette. It appears dark blue when the light is bright and when it’s dim, the color reveals deep and blue-ish-lilac undertone.

It’s very easy to work with and doesn’t require packing.

STAYING POWER:

I never wear my eyeshadows without a primer and over a primer, they stay until the moment I take them off. I was wearing that blue makeup for 17 hours once and I can assure you that it looked as intense and bright as right after the application.

OVERALL:The palette is fantastic quality-wise. If I lose it one day, (God, save it for me, please), I’ll go and purchase one more that very same day. Currently, this is my go-to palette, which I use every single day.

Texture, pigmentation, staying power and application - everything is on fleek here.

The only thing that I’d like you to count is that I’m raving only about the metallic shades because mattes are pretty usual for me and non-standing out. They are of good quality, yet still rather plain.

I like that the palette doesn’t limit my creativity. I can come up with so many makeups with it, which will apt for daytime as well as evening wear. The palette is absolutely universal.
