Hello there!
I don’t use lip glosses as frequently as lipsticks, though there are still several of them in my collection. Lip glosses are perfect to make my lips appear poutier, though they have a drawback, which is a tacky feel. I’m not into those pink lip glosses, which usually look vulgar and overboard. I prefer nude shades or transparent coverage. I got this Estee Lauder lip gloss from one of the beauty boxes, which I was really happy to find there.
Price - $26.50
Size - 7ml
Shade line: 12
Made in Belgium
This trial size tube is almost identical to its bigger brother, which is glass though.
Here, it’s packed with a classy see-through tube with the name solemnly on.
Yeah, the country of origin and size too.
The bottom part shows the name of the shade and its number.
The applicator top cap of the trial size as well as of the full-sized tube is twist-up, not magnet.
The applicator is small furry and nice to the touch. It’s perfect for me size-wise because I loathe huge applicators.
The stopper inside is dope and it does its job finely. It’s so good that it's difficult to even say that the product is already in use!
Shell Game is a see-through lip gloss with orange flecks inside. It looks fantastic in the sunlight.
However, it doesn’t almost show any shine indoors.
I have to pack the coverage to get this orangy finish.
Oh, Gosh, it’s gorgeous! Sweet, caramel orange scent. It’s nice to sniff and taste as well.
The product is tacky and runny. It doesn’t set on my lips.
The product applies nice and I don’t even have to use a mirror with it. My lips shine brightly with a couple of strokes.
The application is comfortable and the formula doesn’t feather or budge. My lips visually appear poutier because of the product texture.
A macro shot:
Full-on makeup:
The shade Shell Game is a universal lip gloss, which will suit everyone. It’s so natural that it would be rather silly to expect any tinting or staining effect.
The product can be used alone as well as on top of your lipstick but it’ll decrease the staying of your lipstick this way.
As many other lip glosses from Estee, this one is rather tacky but if you’re into this formula, you won’t even notice that. In all other aspects, I don’t even feel it on my lips!
The staying power isn’t phenomenal and it will sink into your lips within an hour, like many other gliding lip glosses.
The formula is skin-friendly because I can see how nurtured my chapped lips are after use.
No allergy, dryness or irritation was detected.
It goes a long way. One tube will be enough to use within 6 months every day.
No cons for me.
Pros:
- adorable natural shade
- comfy to wear
- pleasant flavor and smell
If you’re a fan of lip glosses and you’re looking for a good skin-friendly formula, then pay attention to this Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss. I’ve heard somewhere that it might be discontinued soon.
Thanks for your attention!
