Pros: a little goes a long way, full coverage, isn’t felt on my skin, longwearing, matte finish, no mask wearing effect, wide range of shades
Cons: not so easy to apply

Hello! The September 2017 has brought us good news from Rihanna. The girl has launched her own cosmetic line.

Finally—the ultimate photo filter in foundation form. Born in 40 boundary-breaking shades, Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation gives skin an instantly smooth, pore-diffused, shine-free finish that easily builds to medium to full coverage. The oil-free formula is made with climate-adaptive technology that’s resistant to sweat and humidity, and won’t clog pores so that wherever you are, it’s going to work on your skin. Best of all, this longwearing, light-as-air texture is undetectable on skin—so you always look like you.

The starting collection includes a lot of products like foundations, face primers and some tools to apply makeup with. You can buy or order any product on Sephora.com

I usually don’t get hooked on a “celebrity” cosmetic products, just because I think that professional brands do this job better counting that professional do their job and celebrities sell their products simply because they are famous and popular, as a rule. I can assure you that I didn't fall for the Kim Kardashian’s contouring as well as Kylie Jenner’s lip products. But visiting the Sephora store, my eye was caught by small sachet-jars of Rihanna’s foundation and I grabbed it as it was free of charge.

I must apologize for the quality of the photos. You see, I wasn’t going to write a review of this product, as I don’t like the reviews of sachets. But I was so impressed with the product that I decided to take some pictures and share my opinion with a world.

So, let’s get started! All the shots of the sachets as well as shades are in the end of the review.

There are 40 shades in the collection and I have 5 of them + a face primer. This review is dedicated to the foundation only, so I didn’t apply a primer beforehand. Price: $34 for the full-sized bottle in Sephora.

  • TEXTURE: Runny

  • APPLICATION: The product dries quickly on the face, so never try to apply it dotty over your face and then blend out. No, you’ll end up looking dotty unless you wash it off. It’s better to apply a small amount of product on different parts of the face and blend out straight after the application.

  • I like to apply this foundation with a damp beautyblender as after that I don't have any problems blending it out then.

  • COVERAGE

  • Look at my chin. It has become smooth and beautiful after this product application, even though I have visible acnes scars there and some blemishes

  • I ALWAYS use concealer under my eyes, or layer foundation there. Dark under eye circles is a problem of mine. I look awful unless I conceal them. When I applied this foundation, I understood that I don’t need to apply concealer, as the foundation coverage was enough to camouflage my dark under eye circles.

  • Coverage. I’d give it 4.5 out of 5. It doesn’t mean that the coverage is sheer or looks like a mask on my face, nothing like that. I know some other professional foundation products that look the same yet are better in coverage.

  • The product is buildable, which is a con.

  • The foundation oxidizes (becomes darker) while wearing!

  • FINISH

  • The finish is matte as promised.

  • As well as using a concealer on a daily basis, I ALWAYS use a powder to set my makeup. Even if I use a matte foundation. But I didn’t see any point to use my powder over this foundation.

AS FOR THE SHADE. I’m not fair in complexion. But still I had the fairest shade in my sachets (150) and decided to start from this one. It’s a little bit fairer than my complexion but it’s not a problem for me as I use contouring to darken my face. So that there’s no visual difference in the color between my face and neck. There are 40 shades in the collection, I think everyone will find a match.

  • CONTOURING

  • I took the darkest shade to contour my face (420). Some product on my hair line, a little bit on my cheeks and forehead.

  • The blending over the other shade applied becomes even more tricky but I did my best and I think I did the task rather well. Smile But honestly, I still had to use a powder contouring to set.

  • TEST-DRIVE. The product’s been 7 hours on my skin.

  • It’s very hot outside, as well as humid.

  • And first of all I want to say that for all these hours of wearing I didn’t feel the product present on my face at all, unless I touched my face. When I touched it, I felt that there was something applied over my skin. Smile By in general, the wear was comfortable and my skin wasn’t tightened or anything.

  • My face became oily only after 4 hours of wearing, taking into the consideration the weather conditions (humidity and heat) 4 hours that’s good time.

  • In the evening when I looked very close to my face, I noticed that the coverage has become very sheer in the places where I touched my face most of all: tip of the nose, under the upper lip and cheeks. In all other places it was held well. And that’s without setting with powder. I’m impressed! VERY MUCH IMPRESSED.

  •

I’m sure that I’ll buy the full sized product. I recommend it! Give this product a go and you’ll understand why I am so impressed by it! Smile

Recently Rihanna has launched her own cosmetics line. Everybody knows about it already. Surprisingly there is only one review on this website, but I’d like to continue the topic! I live in France for the time being and had an opportunity to go and test this foundation at Sephora.

I thought Farsali oil would be my worst purchase at Sephora, but I was wrong. The oil did something good, but this foundation… This is a review of a full-size bottle with 1,08 oz. Actually, I don’t find this foundation so pricey, especially in comparison with other high end foundations.
