The brand is run by Kat von D, best known as a tattoo artist.
Her product line extended very rapidly. For example, there are 3 eyeliner types available at the moment.
Ink Liner is the only liner that comes in a variety of shades. Overall, there are 8 color tones, but I have Trooper, the basic black. I have a sample of it that came together with a lipstick.
I rarely use liquid eyeliners, so I’m not much of an expert in this area. And, I don’t really purchase them, but it’s so nice that I can try them when I get samples from makeup sets.
Moreover, these mini-sizes are very handy, taking into account that they dry out very quickly and expire in about 6 months.
The design is quite lovely and gothic-style due to the writing on the tube. The package is made of plastic and has a felt tip.
Whenever I have soft tips in eyeliners, I prefer giving them to someone, because they are too bendy. It’s really hard to draw sharp lines with them, especially when you are not really skilful in it. So, such eyeliners as this one are very helpful.
On the plus side also, this tip is not very sturdy (it’s not like those that prickle your eyes), but it’s medium sturdy and very nice to use. It flattens a little bit whenever you press the tip a little bit.
It was harder to draw lines on my hand than on my eyelids :)
It’s fragrance-free and pitch black. It draws lines very easily on my eyelids.
I would like to pay special attention to the lid of this eyeliner. It’s somewhat dual, so that it clicks shut very securely with the help of some springy mechanism inside. So, it won’t dry out for a long time!
The dual lid
I have such a skin type that every mascara even a waterproof one smudges, even if I wear an eyelid cream.
So, it’s a real issue for me to find a decent eyeliner that won’t smudge or transfer.
Usually only Korean makeup products help me there.
However, this liquid waterproof eyeliner surprised me with its quality.
Not only did it draw lines of the thickness I wanted, but it also never smudged or went flakey, which was frequently the case after 20 hours of wearing an eyeliner in the heat. More than that, it didn’t fade but stayed in place very well.
The finish is matte and stays matte all day.
It removes effortlessly with a two-phase makeup remover and even with a regular cleanser.
Made in Korea
By the way, I was really surprised that this American eyeliner was made in Korea. No wonder now that it performs so well for me I can safely recommend you this eyeliner, even if you are a newbie in this area. By the way, the eyeliner didn’t dry out when it expired!
