Do you love cosmetics as much as I do? I’ve been looking for quite a while for a palette of good quality eyeshadows, and finally decided to try out the Kat von D.
The design is gothic in Kat’s style - matte thin box with a shaped mirror. There are 12 hues:
Let’s look at them in thirds:
The left one:
- Samael - dusty fawn
- Salas - smoky brown
- Lucius - soft light beige
- Laetus - creamy nude (upper)
Middle:
- Saleos - espresso brown
- Shax - jet black
- Liberatus - pinkish ivory
- Lazarus - cool taupe (upper)
The right one:
- Succubus - rich rust
- Sytry - chocolate brown
- Latinus - golden bisque
- Ludwin - peachy bronze(upper)
The swatches of all hues:
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these shadows. They are quite soft (especially the light ones), well pigmented, blend easily, despite the ultra matte finish. However, I can say that not all the shimmers have such a great blendable power. Texture-wise, the dark hues are a bit drier, the light ones are creamy. The shadows require a primer, so the color payoff will be just insane.
You can create different looks with this palette and it’ll be very easy. Even the black Shax isn’t whimsical and does its job well, so classic smokey eyes isn’t a problem any more.
And one more great thing about this palette is that you can contour your face with it. Lazarus is a perfect sculpture shade, and all the hues, especially Laetus, as a matte highlighter. So, this palette is a great scope for creativity.
The price: 46$
My rate: I think you’ve already guessed that.
