Hey!
One day I saw this palette in my local store and instantly bought it. I was attracted by the bold colors and I wanted to practise at creating bright makeups.
I’m gonna tell you about my experience today.
Price: $3.99
The design is simple and cheap. What else can one expect from a low-end brand though?
The plastic palette has a transparent lid, which can be easily opened and closed.
There are five eye-catching shades in the palette that make you want to apply them immediately .
Inside, there were a small sponge and a brush, which I threw away after I’d taken these photos.
I prefer to apply eyeshadows with my own brushes. In one of my next reviews, I’m planning to talk about my favorite kit.
There was text on the other side of the palette.
Swatches and characteristics:
All hues are matte and easy to apply, but they all fall out. The yellow shade is the worst. The pigmentation seems to be quite decent in the pictures, but in real life it’s awful. The only pigmented shade is the orange shade.
I’ll talk about each shade separately. They are all matte, and without shimmer.
Violet - the biggest disappointment ever. Barely visible on my eyelid. I have to layer it again and again, but it remains sheer even in this case.
Orange - Good pigmentation and color payoff, doesn’t fall out.
Yellow - Poor pigmentation and color payoff, too loose
Green - The pigmentation is slightly better, but not perfect. It tends to fall out as well.
Blue - Not bad and too loose as well.
I expected so much from these eyeshadows, I wanted to practise at creating bold makeups, but the palette had fallen short of my expectations.
Makeups (if you can call this a makeup)
I applied them wet, except for the orange one. And of course, I used an eyeshadow base.
1. I tried so hard, really. But the violet hue was barely visible, along with the yellow in the inner corner of the eye and the orange on the eyelid.
2. Well, this one might be appropriate for a photoshoot or a carnival.
3. Another attempt to use the violet shade, and I failed again.
4. I tried to use the blue shade as an eyeliner.
5. One more try with the violet shade. Again, nothing.
And the orange-violet makeup
I’m disappointed. I’d be better spending more money on Sleek and get a better quality rather than buy these cheap palettes one by one. Maybe other palettes from this line have better quality, so I don’t recommend this one.
