Hello everybody!
I’m a huge fan of Kylie Jenner cosmetics. This gal is the model of perfect makeup for me. Currently, I own about 25 lipsticks from Kylie Cosmetics.
She has started her way in a beauty world when she released a set of matte lipsticks and a lip pencil and now she started to release velvet textures and stick lipsticks. Aside from all that she is also famous for her eyeshadow palettes, concealers, highlighters and blushes.
A year ago, Kylie launched a collection of velvet solo-packed lipsticks, which I’m going to tell you about today.
Price: $16Size: 0.11 oz (3g)
Design:
Each lipstick is packed with a narrow matte box, which also has the lettering KYLIE on it in a glossy black color. So stylish.
The upper part of the box reveals the name of the shade. I have them in Boy Bye and Low Key.
The tube is heavy and plastic.
The packaging is good quality and some of my Kylie’s lipsticks are 2 year old already and there isn’t a scratch on or a disappeared drop. Of course there are some scratches but they're almost undetectable.
The top cap comes with a standard applicator-sponge. It’s rather small in size and of a handy shape. No problems with the lipstick application with it.
Texture:
When I bought my first lipsticks from Kylie (they were from the Matte Lip Kit), it felt as though they were perfect and absolutely comfortable. But now, there’s such a selection of different matte lipstick formulas that I understand Kylie’s lipsticks aren’t the best.
It’s so great that she decided to launch the Velvet collection, these are very comfy.
They are packed with pigments, one coat is already enough for a good coverage. The lipstick applies the same way as a matte liquid lipstick with the only difference that it doesn’t dry down and remains satin-like.
Shades:
(upper is Boy Buy and lower is Low Key)
Boy Bye is my favorite. I’m head over heels with it. The maker describes it as a pinky mauve and it’s so true to life.
This is how it looks over my lips:
Total look:
Low Key - I’m not raving about it, because it appears so nude. I love nude shades, which are darker. However, this shade is still beautiful, such a true peach.
The maker describes it as a pinky coral. For me, it’s a true peach nude.
Full look:
Both lipsticks apply perfectly well with a gliding applicator, which allows me to cover my lips with a thin layer and saturated pigment. These lipsticks don’t look patchy or clumpy. At first they can appear glossy but later they set and the color remains satin. The formula is rather long-wearing - it’ll live through everything, tea, coffee, though not a meal. It stains cups, yet doesn’t lose its pigmentation after that.
Overall:
These are beautiful, comfortable and good lipsticks. I’m sure to buy more shades for my stash of such velvet lipsticks.
Soon, I’ll tell you about my entire Kylie Jenner lipstick collection.
Thanks for your attention! :)Yours, Sophie
