Hello! I bought the Lancome Matte Shaker in spring, when it first appeared in our stores. I wasn’t planning to buy it, because I went to purchase Dior Tint that day. The sales assistant was persuading me in every possible way to give up this idea, saying that it creases, tightens and dries the lips out. She advised me to try a new product from Lancome and I was sold. Now I have it in my makeup bag.

Volume: 6.2 ml

Country: France

Description:

Finally, a matte liquid lipstick that wears comfortably without drying out your lips! A water-in-oil emulsion that's formulated with a patented Ultra Thin Film technology to deliver weightless texture and a second-skin feel without sacrificing intense color payoff. And it has Vitamin E for comfortable, non-drying wear.

Packaging: the product comes in a silver paper packaging. It has lots of information, as usual. On the back you can find the ingredients.

The tube is made of sturdy plastic. It looks very decent without frills, i.e. glistening particles, golden letters or ringlets.

The design is the same as of the Lancome Juicy Shaker. The only difference is that the cap of this lipstick is matte and glossy. I like it this way, because no fingerprints or dust are visible. The lower part is completely transparent, so you can see the contents clearly.

On either side you can see the printed name of the brand with a rose on top.

The sticker on the bottom is pasted unevenly. Well, nothing is perfect.

The applicator has a tapered shape that ensures precise application, so there is no need to use an extra brush for contouring. It’s very soft and fluffy and applies the lipstick with ease. So comfortable.

This is what the manufacturer says about it:

Its unique cushion sponge allows for maximum absorption of the formula to deliver a precise, soft application onto the lips, and buildable color that dries without smudging or transfer.

Just shake it to soak the applicator with the product. You’ll hear a ball clattering inside the tube.

The smell is hardly noticeable and dissipates in the tracks. The smell is somewhat synthetic and floral. I won’t say that it’s pleasant, it’s more like a neutral one and doesn’t make any sense.

The lipsticks usually have a sweet taste, but this one tastes like real soap. It’s especially noticeable till it’s not completely dry. Further on it’s more or less fine. So, if you plan a life-changing date, don’t use this lipstick.

The texture is creamy and a little bit oily. It won’t dry your lips out for sure. It’s all about the innovative formula.

It applies and spreads out well without emphasizing your lip imperfections. It dries out in about 3 minutes, so you have some time to correct the coverage. Afterwards the lipstick gets a gorgeous finish that is only partially matte. The finish is a little bit moist and very luscious due to the silicones in the ingredients. There are no shimmer or glistening particles in the formula.

Shade: №272 ENERGY PEACH

The shade looks muted in the tube and reminds me of a dusty rose. After applying you realize that the name is very suitable.

It looks like a luscious peach that has been growing in the sun and energizing all the time. As a result, it got its fabulous color.

The range is available in 7 hues:

  • 186 Magic Orange is an orange shade perfect for summer.

  • 189 Red’Y in 5 is a gorgeous red shade. I’m planning to try it next.

  • 270 Beige Vintage is a cold and luscious dusty rose with a hint of lilac.

  • 272 Energy Peach is the lightest peachy shade out there.

  • 374 Kiss Me Cherie reminds me of a succulent cherry.

  • 378 Pink Power: plum with a rose undertone.

  • 379 Yummy Pink is an intense fuchsia shade.

Let’s move on to the performance:

The lipstick is hardly pigmented and won’t cover up your natural lip color even after 2 layers.

It has a half-transparent and quite vibrant coverage. This is one of the most comfortable lipsticks I’ve ever used really.

It feels undetectable on my lips. My lips are moisturized, smooth and good-looking. While layering, it:

  • doesn’t go streaky

  • doesn’t flow

  • doesn’t emphasize the lip lines

  • doesn’t crack on my lips

  • doesn’t tighten my lips

  • doesn’t smear

It wears around 3 hours. My lips feel very soft, moisturized and so delicate. I usually use a lip balm to feel this way. Note that it’s a matte lipstick.

It comes off gradually and disappears completely after a while. It removes with ease with any micellar water or cleansing lotion. Just rub it a little with a cotton pad.

Final verdict:

The lipstick won me over totally. I love everything about it beginning from the design and shape to its behaviour on my lips.

The quality is on top. It works like a lip balm and gives an amazing matte finish at the same time. The only concern is that there are only a few shades available. They all are too bright and won’t suit everyone.

Thank you for your attention! Feel free to leave comments!
