Pros: i like the way they look on my lips, no bleeding, no drying, packaging, results, staying power, vanilla aroma
Cons: dry texture, pricey, the formula isn’t transfer-proof

Hey! ✬

As you’ve probably already noticed, recently I started writing lipstick reviews more and more. And as a continuation of this wonderful marathon I want to tell you about the fashion of the last seasons, I mean Lime Crime Perlees Lipsticks.

I bought them a year ago on the official website with a huge discount (about $8) and after a year on I want to tell you about my impressions of use.

What does the product promise?

Long wearing highly pigmented metallic lipstick. Perlees are comfort-wear metallic mattes that give your lips a soft sheen of dusted pearls. Full-coverage, creamy formula clings to skin for prolonged wear so you don't have to reapply every hour, while rosemary extract protects and moisturizes. Throw it on before a night out on the town and keep your lips on-point without the worry of chapped or dry skin! Lush floral packaging looks great in your purse, and reveals a bouquet of rich jewel tones - a real treat for lipstick lovers looking to enhance their collection with something different.

Short info:

Actually, all the product details are given on the cardboard box.

  • Shelf life - 12 months of opening. Expires closed within 3 years.

  • Size - 4.5g

  • The brand doesn’t test on animals;

  • Made in the USA;

Packaging and the stick

Design… Oh, I can sing praises of it forever. This is that very design when my heart starts beating faster, evolving and charming me with those roses on the casing. But if I were meant to be serious, we can see just a matte case with the branded logo on it. Even the box itself is already a piece of art. Well, I guess you know why I still keep it.

As for the lipstick, well, it’s a stick which sits nicely inside. You can see the true colors of the products. Notice that they also have that metallic sheen.

Swatches and looks

The products are friendly to swatching: they don’t apply patchily and layer with opaque coverage. I’m not a fan of stick lippies but here the color kickback is insane.

The texture feels a little bit dry when I apply the products on my hand but still, I managed to swatch them well. The products have a pleasant light aroma. I can remove them from my skin with regular wipes.

Swatches

The first one will be the shade Penny. It’s such an alluring orange-copper shade. The product doesn’t fade from the inner corners and stays on till the first lip rubbing or a meal or a kiss. It isn’t transfer-proof. No drying out or patchy finish. In the photo, the lipstick is applied with one layer.

The Diamond Crushers guide stated that it can be paired with lipsticks. Well, if I apply it on top, the lipsticks boost their shine, which actually decreases its wear time significantly.

I paired it with the Cleopatra top coat.

You know, I’m not against blue or some other bizarre lipstick colors. The shade Denim is a blue metallic. It’s the same as the Penny characteristics-wise. The staying power is about 5-7 hours without food and drinks. But I always eat or drink something that’s why I have to touch-up a lot. However, the lipstick is build-able and there are no issues with its layering.

I also paired this shade with the Trip top coat. The picture was taken by the bright artificial light.

Washing off

As I’ve already mentioned, the product can be wiped off with regular wipes from my hand. And the same goes to the removal from my lips, actually. Micellar water, cleansing oil and also regular makeup wipes will always wash off these lipsticks on the first go.

Summing up, I want to say that the fashing for metallic lipsticks is fading. But I still do want to recommend this product. Even though it can’t boast with massive staying power, it’s still unusual, unique and just cosmic. It’s such a giant compliment and attention collector!

And that’s it for today.

    These lipsticks are something in between of matte and metallic textures. And as a result, you get a gorgeous shade. The color Beetle is absolutely unusual. It’s brown-based with a lilac undertone and a green sheen.
