There are more and more products for strobing appearing nowadays. They are presented in different shapes and price segments.
Strobing of 2017
The girls all over the world love glowing skin very much. And no one's gonna turn down highlighters, despite the strobing being presented in almost all of the make-up anti-trends of 2017.
To look decent, the makeup gurus advise us to put up a bit of the glow and make it matte. They also advise to apply it only onto the high points of the face and never buy a highlighter with a visible shimmer or glitter in it. The finer the grain, the better it looks. Our skin must be shining with inner glow, not outer. In a few words - you need just slightly touch your face with a highlighter and then blend it out properly.
But as we all know perfectly well: usual customers don't always agree with what the fashion gurus say. Some trends simply just can’t catch on, though can be presented in all the catwalks; others just can’t go away despite all the magazines writing the opposite. They give us a choice but it’s only up to us to choose.
I’m not going to give up on the highlighter, I made my choice and I want to continue playing with it. 
And today I want to talk about the Strobe Stick by Maybelline, which all the top bloggers have already had the opportunity to praise.

My color is 100, pleasant beige-pinky undertone. It’s the most obvious to choose if you have fair skin.
The second is also beautiful, but of warm and golden undertones. It’ll be better for tanned skin.

It’s funny, but some time ago I thought that the product had a very delicate glow with a tiny shimmer. And I was really upset when in the sun I saw some big particles of shimmer to it.

Maybelline made their highlighter in the stick shape (as well as their master sculpt)
Sticks are my new love. I think it’s very convenient to take it with me, as nothing will leak or crumble.
The stick twists up very fluently and won’t open itself. It’s very pleasant that the brand became so responsible in terms of packaging. Maybe that’s because it was made in Germany, and German quality is one of the best, as their Master Sculpt Stick wasn’t very stable in the packaging.
The texture, application and scent:
Texture-wise the product is very pleasant to the touch. It’s not oily; I’d say that it’s like powder. It applies and blends very easily with no patches. It’s not that kind of product that dries out and stays firmly, no, it fades away very evenly and gradually.
I can’t say that there’s any strong scent in it. The product doesn’t smell at all, if any of you are interested.
The product is extremely economical, it’ll last very long.

Lasting power
I read some other reviews before writing mine, and was actually surprised by how many different opinions there are about the lasting power of this product. They differ so much that in one review the staying power was among the advantages, while in the others it was marked as a disadvantage. I can assume that this was due to the fact that girls have different skin type. On oily skin any products come off faster, especially creamy textures. Or maybe because some girls wrote a review just right after the purchase, not really testing it, as it also happens sometimes.
As for me the lasting power of that product is okay: it’s not very good, but also it’s not very bad either. All creamy highlighters which I used before were of same or worse lasting effect. The highlighter by Maybelline will stay on your skin for some time, but then it’ll start fading and you’ll need to touch up. It’ll definitely stain on your mobile. In the evening it’ll fade off completely. It’s great that the product is of stick shape, it’ll be easy to touch up.
Comparison with other strobing sticks.
I couldn’t find the strobing products classification anywhere. The only thing they say is that highlighters are usually divided on the creamy and dry in textures. I don’t quite agree. I can’t say that I’m a fan of strobing, but even in my beauty bag I’ve found three types of highlighters:
- Liquid luminizers, cream luminizers.
I have three of them. Here’s a combination of moisturizing cream with a beneficial effect, which is supplemented with a small amount of pink mother-of-pearl color. The glow isn’t very visible, there’s a very light reflective effect.
Such highlighters can dilute the usual foundation.
The finish is very modest.
In small tubes, jars and so on, they are much brighter. They are decorative cosmetics. The famous Highbeam by Benefit falls into this category.
They will be great for girls with dry skin.
The hero of today’s review falls into this very category. By its properties on the skin there’s no difference from liquid ones. Pretty bright and slightly oily. The only question is which form of packaging is more convenient for you. This highlighter at least will not ruin the purse.
For whom: For girls who carry cosmetics with them and don’t have oily skin.
And even this kind of highlighter was found in my cosmetic bag, though it’s not the best representative of the group. I have a product with quite noticeable large sparkles, which contradicts the very idea of a soft glow from the inside and is definitely an anti-trend.
It’s for girls with oily skin. Because my skin is rather dry, it's not actually what I like.

So,
I general, I like this product. There are more pluses to it. The shimmer isn’t actually that much to worry about. All in all, the Highbeam shines the same in the sun.
I won’t buy this product again, but simply because this one will run out in 4 years or so. And I think that in 4 years the strobing will be completely out of fashion. I give it a thumbs up, though taking away one star. I recommend it only to the girls with dry or normal skin.
