After highlighters, illuminators, and many other interesting things entered my life, after a whole "era" of a totally matte face, it's difficult to stop, and therefore, having many of such things in my collection, I still continue buying them again and again: shy :
So today I want to tell you about Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter, which I fell in love with the very moment I saw its swatches.
The Maybelline Master Strobing Stick is quite big, but cute. The packaging is made of black plastic of good quality. It was sealed with transparent tape.
Size - 9 g, considering that you’ll need the tiniest bit, it’ll last very long. So, it’s worth spending money on it.

I’ve chosen 100 Light Iridescent because I like soft-pinky shades, and I think they’re the only shades which suit to fair haired girls. So, Maybelline Master Strobing Stick is one more highlighter with pink undertone in my collection, but I’ll tell you the details a little bit later.
I can’t say that there’s a lot of the product, no, the packaging takes a lot of space. But, I repeat once again, the product will go a long way. By the way, in the photos below, my highlighter has already been used a lot, but still looks like a new one.
In the daylight, the product looks the same as in the stick. On my hand there are two swatches:
1) I applied and almost completely blended out
2) I applied and layered from the stick
As you can see, there are no big shimmering parts, just beautiful glowing.
In the sunlight I simply can’t help admiring it! So glowing, so… wonderful.
But again, once it’s blended out, (as it’ll look on the face) there’s no shimmer or glitter. The highlighter gives wet and glowing finish. I think, that’s the example of how the highlighter must look like.
It’s difficult to use more than you need, so I can easily use it in the strobing technique.
Strobing - that’s the makeup technique, where the highlighter is applied on the high points of the face (cheekbones, under eyebrows, inner corners of the eyes, the middle of forehead, the bridge of the nose, Cupid’s bow and chin) to give the face healthy and natural glow.
To show you the Master Strobing Stick’s location I marked the places where I applied it.
You can see that healthy glow without shimmer, that looks natural, delicate and freshens the total look.
The highlighter has a powder finish, at first I was surprised as it blended like a dry textured product, not creamy. But for me, that’s an advantage. It applies well over any other products, dry or liquid. In a word it applies perfectly on foundation, as well as powder, leaving no spots and without turning into a mud.
I like two ways of applying it: with the brush (take it straight from the stick) or dabbing the stick itself on my skin.
I’m delighted in both cases. If your skin is oily, it’ll last for about 5 hours.
The product doesn’t move, it just fades slightly. Because of the convenient stick and no need for a brush, it’ll be easy to touch up.
So, I’m very delighted with Maybelline Master Strobing. That’s one of the most beautiful products that I’ve ever tried. I recommend it.
By the way, two months before Master Strobing Stick appeared in my collection, I’d bought two highlighters by L'Oreal.
L'Oreal Paris Alliance Perfect in the shade 202N Rosy Glow and liquid highlighter L'Oreal Alliance Perfect 301C Icy Glow.
And if to compare all three products, Maybelline Master Strobing is something in between liquid and powder highlighters.
Liquid Alliance Perfect is brighter, stronger, gives more noticeable glow and has cold-pink undertones. The powder Alliance Perfect looks even softer, more nude like, than Master Strobing. I use it as a finishing powder on the whole face and it doesn’t look too much. So, as I found out, I do really need Master Strobing in my makeup bag, my hand always reaches that stick. I use it quite a lot
