Hello, all the eyeshadow junkies!

How many wearable brown toned eyeshadow palettes are there in your collection?

I have enough of them to make up an entire city.

But why do I highlight this one as my go-to eyeshadow palette?I’m so mature when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, that it’s almost impossible to impress me. I’ll always find something to be picky about.

My favorite formula of eyeshadow descends to the Asian market: Shiseido and its bigger concern Clé de Peau, Shu Uemura and of course Nars.

Yeah, the Nars brand is American but its founder is French and the company is Japanese.

This is where the unique formula begins. Delicate and visible glow, bright yet not too bold shimmer…

These eyeshadows almost don’t dust. Well, maybe the darker shades are a little bit falling out.

This palette is basic. My makeup always looks beautiful when I use it.

General product info:

  • Price - $59

  • Weight - 16.8g (1.4g each refill)

  • Made in the USA

  • Shelf life - 12 months

Design:

The palette retails covered with a beautiful cardboard box of the same glossy and golden color as the palette itself. Unfortunately, I don’t have that box anymore.

The palette’s design is simple. The top glossy top lid looks pretty stylish but all that beauty disappears once I pick it up. The thing is that all the surface collects my fingerprints, micro scratches, and all other boo-booes.

But in all other respects, the palette is of good quality.

The back shows the names of the shades, manufacturer and the shelf life of the palette.

Inside:

The mirror is dope here. I always use it when putting on my makeup.

The palette consists of 12 refill pans. 5 are matte and 7 are satin.

Shades and their characteristics:

The palette is divided into 3 rows of shades:

The first one consists of 4 shades. In my opinion, the shades are good for everyday makeup.

Newbury Street - golden silver white based shade. It creates a beautiful shimmering shift. In this palette, this shade is the only highlighting one. I use it for my brow bone and apply to the inner corners. Sometimes I use it as a highlighter for my face makeup.

Windsor - matte close to my skin color. It’s good for blending. As for me, I use it to set my makeup. I like how it smoothes out my eye skin.

Privilege - golden shimmering color. This is an expensive gold. No green cast, which is so common for such shades sometimes. I can also highlight my lower lash line with it from time to time. It applies smoothly with a brush as well as with my finger. It looks almost like foil. This hue is of average pigmentation.

Dover - matte taupe shade. It’s awesome for deepening of the crease. It isn’t my favorite color because it looks too gray over me.

Let’s pass over to the second row:

This row is a more interesting one for me. I love red and brick-toned shades.

Foix - warm peach eyeshadow shade. I can use it for the first blending or all over my mobile lid.

Castille - brown-red shade. One can use it for the darker crease if blended with Dover.

Alnwick - orange-red satin shade. This one is the driest and worst out of all shimmering ones. I use it as an accent all over my mobile lid. Not my fave.

Beaumaris - beautiful brown satin. One of my favorite in this palette. It’s well packed with pigments. I use it for the gradient makeup and darker outer Vs.

The last row:

I can list this row to my evening makeup.

Splendor - brown-silver frost shade. One of the most interesting ones in this palette. It’s really bright and expensive-looking. It’s gorgeous as an accent shade for the mobile lid.

Versailles - it’s almost like the previous one but a tad different in the color. Brown golden accent, again.

Montaillou - matte brown. It isn’t well pigmented. It can fall out a little during application. I use it for the outer V so as to deepen the look or along my lash line.

Reale - black shimmering color. It isn’t charcoal black. It’s more like a dark gray. But in reality, the shade isn’t bad. The pigmentation isn’t the best in the world, though.

The matte shades are dustier when I pick them up.

But this is normal. As for the satins, they can be also dusty but it’s all due to the formula, which isn’t brand new, you know.

But they all sit on the brush well.

My opinion:

The palette costs a lot but I bought it discounted. In general, I can take this palette as a profitable one.

During the time of use of this palette, I’ve changed my opinion about it several times. I was in love with it or hated it. This review has been on my drafts for a year… It was just difficult for me to make up my mind about it.

The palette is good for permanent use. It’s very simple to work with. The shades aren’t bold and the wear time is decent over a primer.

A year ago, I’d assess it with 5 stars and would definitely recommend it. But now, I can’t say so, alas.

This is just a regular eyeshadow palette. Yes, the blending is fuss-free and the colors are beautiful. But it’s still old school formula-wise.

There are many other eyeshadows available now with better formulas. There are many other more interesting shimmers and satins nowadays. So many brown-red palettes in the market. Even the drugstore brands or middle market make them fine today. Yes, again, the palette is good. But currently, I don’t think that it’s worth the money it costs. So, not recommended.

Overall:

Even though the Narsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette is one of the most versatile eyeshadow palettes of good quality, I still can’t recommend it for purchasing.

The formula is old, it lacks pigmentation and it’s high priced.

P.S. I don’t want to hurt anyone who loves this palette. I love it too and I respect the Nars brand. But looking through the nowadays eyeshadows, I conclude that I can find something better.

Thanks a lot for reading my post!
