Pros: color selection, don't scratch my lips, long-lasting

For a long time I couldn’t find a good lip pencil to meet all my demands. All those that I tried were either too rough or on the contrary too soft in consistency. That’s why all my bright lipsticks were put aside waiting for the right pencil to come and make me wear them. One day I became so desperate that I even bought a universal lip pencil (it looked terribly yellowish on my lips) which I threw away as there was no use of it because it made my lips look awful.

Slim lip pencils by NYX caught my attention by the color selection. There were so many bright and unusual shades. And of course the price was tempting and affordable.

Slim, trim, but never prim our lip pencils come in a variety of dashing shades - from auburn to orange and traffic-stopping red. The buttery long-wearing lip liner formula goes on easily and resists bleeding.

Ingredients:

Sorbitan Isostearate, Isocetyl Stearate,Phenyl Trimethicone, Polyethylene, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax,Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Unsaponifiables, Beeswax, SimmondsiaChinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Caprylic/Capri Triglyceride, Nylon-12,Octyldodecanol, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Silica, CoperniciaCerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Hydrogenated, Coconut Oil, Tocopherol,VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Stearalkonium Hectorite, StearylGlycyrrhetinate, Propylparaben, Prolylene Carbonate

At the time being I have the NYX Lip Pencil Liner in the following shades:

  • Nude Pink - it isn’t actually nude shade. I can see pink pigments to it which is not my natural lip color

  • Pale Pink - cool, frosty pink shade

  • Hot Pink - bright crimson

  • Orange - I’d say it’s warm red color rather than orange. When I swatched it at store, I thought it was less pigmented

  • Rose - classic pink shade

  • Dolly Pink - purple bright and bold shade

  • Deep Purple - vinous shade

  • Prune - as the previous one, this shade is vinous but with blue undertones

The quality of the products is outstanding, even though I noticed that they become drier when they are almost used up. They are unscented and the consistency is just fine. They never drag or scratch my lips even if I press them hard while application. I sharpen them with a usual sharpener and they never break down and the nib is always sharp. The outer appearance is usual for any NYX pencils - black, simply designed products. There wasn’t a brush for blending in the set which I’m a little bit upset about, but anyway, I love these pencils so much. I appreciate a lot that different shades are the same in quality, even though some products can be different in quality depending on the shade.

I don’t need to use thin brushes to apply lipstick evenly anymore, as I use these pencils and my lips are perfectly lined. No more wasting time!

In the photo I applied the NYX pencil + Shisedo Shimmering and Perfect Rouge. Despite the small difference in the shades. The lip pencil looks great with these lippies, not changing their true color at the same time.

Pale Pink seems to be too pale for me. Once I bought the NYX Matte Lipstick in the same color which I didn’t like. Now I use the pencil along with the Shisedo Perfect Rouge lipstick in the color RS 701 or with the E.L.F. Hypershine Lip Gloss.

Rose - a Barbie shade which is calmer than the Dolly Pink, yet it isn’t nude-like at the same time. It matches well with all my nude lipsticks.

I actually don’t know why I grabbed the Dolly Pink shade then at the store, as I don’t have a lippie to go with it and wearing it solo seems to be a little bit old-fashioned.

Deep purple and Prune. I bought them even though I didn’t have a lippie to match them. But then I had a reason to buy one more lippie. I actually bought a lippie by Chanel, which I’ll probably make a review of later!Smile

I like the Prune lip pencil and I do wear it sometimes with my dark lippies that are purple and vinous in shade, as they all have cool undertones.

The Orange shade is a mistake, guys. It’s very bright and looks neon on my lips. I don’t actually like the way warm undertoned red lip products look on me. Sometimes I wear it with the lip gloss by Tony Moly.

I haven’t had any bad or allergic reactions while wearing these lip pencils.

Price: $4

Highly recommended! These long-lasting, affordable and superb in quality lip pencils should be in a make-up bag of every girl!
