NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette - review

When I entered the store I knew that I wanted to purchase a blush and preferably in a palette. In fact, there are not so many brands that have brought out blush palettes lately. Smashbox only has two types of such products, but I had similar shades already.

When I looked at the NYX shelf, I was amazed. There were so many colors and a huge amount of various packages, pots and cases.

It didn’t take me long to pick up this palette. I was hooked right away. It was exactly what I’d been looking for! The palette has 8 amazing and super-bright shades for any occasion.

PACKAGING

The palette comes in a sealed cardboard package. The palette itself is made of plastic and has a transparent cap.

A mirror or sponge are not included.

Most of the time I put on my makeup at home, so I don’t really need any mirror or sponge.

OUTER APPEARANCE

In my opinion, the refills are pretty big and convenient to use. The size is good for me to pick up enough product with a brush.

The palette consists of 8 hues. The upper row is satin with a little bit of glitter to it and the lower row is matte.

All shades are totally different, although it may seem that the last two colors are pretty similar. However, the difference is noticeable when blending.

THE SHADES

• It’s a pale pearly-pink. I loved applying it to my whole eyelid. It doesn’t look natural when used as a highlighter and it doesn’t really compliment my skin when used as a blush. It accentuates my enlarged pores.

• It’s a pearly golden that I also love using as eyeshadow. As a rule I apply it to my lower eyelid and then draw the lower lash line with a dark eyeliner.

• It’s brown with shimmer. I do not use it as a blush because of my large pores again… But the color is amazing! I use it for my eyelids!

• It’s a matte orange shade with a half-satin finish. I use it for golden makeups.

• It’s a gorgeous pink blush! Also, it’s really vibrant but a little bit dusty. You should pick up just a teeny bit so you don't overdo it.

• It’s a matte purple-red blush that makes my look more business-like when I use it along with dark eyeshadows and lines. By the way, it picks up with a brush a little worse than the others.

• It’s a light fuchsia hue that comes in handy when I want my cheeks to look refreshed. The shade is amazing.

• It’s a matte pink-fuchsia shade. The payoff is subtle pink and suitable for gentle everyday makeups.

QUALITY

The shades have different qualities. Some of them pick up with a brush very well while the others do not and are a little bit dusty. Moreover, one has to be careful with some colors, because it’s easy to overdo them.

Overall, the product is highly pigmented. The result color on your skin is the same as you see in the palette.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I’m obsessed with this palette! I cannot get enough of it every time I use it.

Also, I love combining the shades and use them for my eyelids! So, I’m really glad I found this palette!
