Hello there!
Black Friday sales couldn’t pass by me, that’s how I found the new collection from the Shiseido brand. They relaunch all their makeup line and add some new products as well. Since I’m a huge worshipper of lipsticks and lip glosses, I couldn’t pass by it. And of course, a 50% off offer pushed me for the purchase. So now, it’s time to share my thoughts on this Ink Lip Shine.
Let’s start with the product promises:
1. The unique blend of oils in this hybrid formula offers the shine and comfort of a gloss while smoothing polymers provide the durable, hydrating color of a lipstick. A custom, concave applicator hugs the contours of the mouth and dispenses the perfect amount of pigment that can be worn alone or layered over other lip products for extra dimension and sheen. Available in 12 shades, this full-coverage fluid deposits inky color with a vivid, vinyl finish. Dermatologist-tested.
2. Here we have a pleasant, strict, yet still elegant design of the entire collection. Black matte casing with red ribbon is now the branded sign. The tube has a transparent bottom to see the color of the product inside.
3. Applicator: It’s something that we’ve already seen before a thousand times and here they didn’t manage to surprise us. It’s usual, soft, furry and curved-in from one side. This is that very side that usually has a lot of the formula sitting on it, which isn’t good sometimes.
4. Texture: It’s runny to my liking. It’s very easy to overdo and stain my skin above the lips. I mean, if you apply the product with the sponge, with that curved side, then you can face the product bleeding. The coverage is glossy and it lives up to the name “lacquer."
5. Color: #309 Optic Rose. It’s pleasantly bright, yet not too vibrant. There are 12 shades in the line-up, where I like only one. I wish the shades from the collection were more interesting. But still, there’s something to choose from, even among those 12 ones.
6. Staying power: There isn’t any, actually. This is the fact that disappointed me a lot. They promise us 4 hours of staying power, but in fact, this lipstick barely lives through an hour. After that the glossy finish vanishes and then it disappeared too. It’s all due to such a short life that it isn't a problem to remove the product. Even a tissue will remove it to the fullest. No staining tint is left afterwards.
7. Price: I bought it 50% off from the initial price of $26. But even the discounted price is too much for this product.
In the end, I conclude that this Lip Shine didn’t impress me and I’m not stoked about it. It’s so plain. I don’t know how many stars to assess it. I guess two stars will be enough. Because usually, it happens with me this way, if I do like the lippie, I’ll use it every day unless I get fed up with it. But here, I don’t have any desire to use it at all…
