A lot of gals have already had a chance to test the hyped Sephora matte lipstick collections, that’s why I own four of them in my stash. But honestly, I’m already sick and tired of matte coverage so I need something to alternate it with. And I was utterly happy when I saw that Sephora released a collection of lip products which offers a glossy finish. In my opinion, it should have been a product which would combine all the advantages of the matte lipsticks, though make my lips look more voluptuous due to its glossy shine.
And once the collection was available at the store, I quickly ran there to buy one lip gloss for me. There were 10 shades to choose from. I decided to start off with the beautiful shade #08 Red Pollution.
This is what they say about the product:
An outrageously glossy liquid lipstick available in 10 intense and trendy shades that combines shine, long-lasting wear and precision for voluptuous lips. After the iconic matte Cream Lip Stain, SEPHORA COLLECTION launches a new collection of 10 ultra-pigmented liquid lipsticks that coat your lips with an incredible shine.
Its creamy texture glides easily over your lips without drying them out. Formulated with avocado oil, it offers comfort without compromise.
The tube of this product looks exactly the same as the ones from the classic collection or those with a metallic finish. The applicator is also the same and since I know it, it wasn't a problem to apply the product for me at all.
The color of the lippie is really luscious! So intense, red and expensive. It looks like I’m wearing a lacquer on my lips. But in my book, the brighter the lipstick is, the more long-wearing it should be, so as not to see a terrible mess on your face throughout wear.
So now I’ll tell you about my impressions of use.
First of all, the product feels sticky on my lips. I hate that feeling, that’s why I don’t buy lip glosses. The product doesn’t set on my lips as a matte lipstick and it stains everything that I touch with my lips.
Secondly, the matte lipstick never requires a lip liner, because it doesn’t bleed or feather. This babe feathers within a couple of hours of wearing and it wasn’t even due to me having lunch. It was so frustrating for me. My makeup looked messy then.
So, in the end, I have to say that this lipstick was present on my lips only till the moment I started eating. After that, it disappeared almost completely. I think that it’ll be superfluous to comment upon its wear time!!!
Overall, this lip product doesn’t have anything to do with the formula of the hyped matte lipstick. I take it as a fail purchase. To top it off, I have to confess that I’m afraid of wearing this lipstick as I dread messy smeared red lips. And in this case, I can’t ever rely on the product.
