The cat eye makeup is a rather sore subject for many girls. Of course the skills and knowledge of how to do it are definitely important, but I think that your eyeliner also plays a part. So today we’ll speak about an eyeliner which helps me with my daily makeup - which is the Tarte Sex Kitten Liquid Liner.
Before this liner I used to have a liner with a small brush and a gel-like eyeliner in a small jar. But this pen-shaped product has turned out to be the most convenient to work with, if I want to create a cat flick on my eyes.
Water, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate/HEMA Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Ammonium Acrylates Copolymer, Acrylates/Diethylaminoethyl Methacrylate/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Copolymer, Laureth-21, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Isodeceth-6, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Algae Extract, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Black 2 (CI 77266).
Size: 1.4 ml.
Price: $20 on the official Tarte website.
The liner is very ergonomic. On the top cap there’s a cute little kitten’s face with ears. Alas, the print didn’t last long and vanished rather quickly. So, if the kitten is one of the most important criteria on why you buy this eyeliner, you should know about it.
The liner has a sharp and felt tip which is very nice to create a cat flick with. Depending on how much you press the pen, you can vary the line thickness. This product is great to create thin, as well as thick lines with ease.
On my hand the product feathers, but there isn’t such a problem on my eyes.
The finish doesn’t look glossy, yet it isn’t dead matte either. For me it’s a 100% hit.
The product doesn’t have any scent to it.
And now, a few words about the characteristics of the liner:
The manufacturer states that the product has a waterproof formula. But I don’t think that it’s waterproof. For me it’s just long-wearing and wear-proof. Even if I rub my eyes a lot, I can still be sure that the liner will still stay on my eyes. If I wet it with water, again nothing will happen with it at all. But if I start to rub my eyes, then it’ll smudge, even though I still won’t end up looking like a panda.
There’ll be a small dark spot but in general, the liner will crease with a lot of tiny crumbles.
The liner washes off with a micellar water easy-breezy. I feel fine wearing this eyeliner with my contacts.
I’ve been using it for a month and a half and during that time, the felt tip is still fine. It’s still wet and gives a very beautiful thin line on my eyes.
The result is one and the same: if you like pen eyeliners, then I can highly recommend this product! The price/quality correlation here is all above praise. I bought this liner on the official Tarte website. But it’s also available at Sephora for the same $20.
