Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Gloss - review

I really love lip glosses. I can even say they’ve been my passion for many years. Usually, I get to know the brand with a lip gloss.

As for Tom Ford, I already knew his makeup segment when I bought this lip gloss for me. In my collection, I have eyeshadows, blushes and a couple of lipsticks from him. So, buying this lip gloss I was sure it would be top-notch in quality and would become one of my faves. Unfortunately, that never happened.

So, today I’ll tell and show you why we’ve never made friends with this Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Gloss.

As for the design, I can’t be picky about anything. Tom Ford is always a hands-down winner. The plastic material is sturdy and look at that union of bitter chocolate and gold, those straight lines. Perfection!

The lip gloss offers a rather gooey and tacky consistency. But oddly enough, it applies and spreads rather comfortably. The glossy finish is awesome! The product doesn’t feather or bleed. I haven’t noticed any lip care from it but it doesn’t dry out my lips dreadfully or moisturize them.

I’m not a fan of brush applicators, you know. The thing is that over time those bristles stick out too much and then it’s very difficult to use. The Tom Ford applicator is no exception.

There are a lot of shades in the color line-up. They vary from nude to red and burgundy-vinous shades. As for me, I stopped on the #01 Naked shade and that was my fatal mistake.

I can’t be sure but maybe other shades perform better. And maybe if I bought the shade #03 Sahara Pink, for example, I would have never been so disappointed because the shade #01 Naked is a torture for me.

The main problem lies within its setting into my lip lines. If I apply it with a moderate layer and then smooth the coverage with my fingertip, it appears more or less well.

But if I add a little bit more of it, that’s fatal.

The most disgusting thing is that sticky white film on my inner lip that forms within 10-20 minutes of wearing. It feels like the whole coverage gathers there and that looks awful.

Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in the shade #01 Naked is a huge disappointment. It’s been a long time when I last had such a terrible lip gloss in my collection. I’ve tried to give it several chances but wiped it off within an hour because it’s unbearable.

I’ll never recommend this very shade. Although, I admit that other shades might perform better.
