Hello there!
Highlighters, highlighters… It feels as though they’ll kick me out from my own house soon. :) So, without any other further ado meet the Too Faced Unicorn Horn Highlighting Stick.
This highlighter was released as a part of the spring Unicorn collection of the brand, so it looks similar. The box is golden rose with a rainbow on it.
As always the box presents all the product info, which is weight (7g) and country of manufacturing (Canada).
It doesn’t look bad in the pictures but in real life, the packaging looks cheap. The highlighter stick inside totters around and within a few uses, I could already see how stained the inside of the stick was. Well, yes, it does look like a horn, it’s true.
By the way, the product has a light and chocolate aroma, which is barely detectable.
The product’s formula is rather stiff for the first couple of uses, so make sure to wipe it off here and there several times or warm it up with your finger to take off the upper harsh layer.
After performing all the described manipulations, the highlighter becomes pretty pleasant, creamy and easy to work with. It clings to my skin when I apply it. By the way, it doesn’t budge my foundation when I blend it out, which is so common for many stick products.
This is what it looks like when I apply it right from the stick with one stroke on my skin. It’s unblended. The result is cool, I can see a dewy finish, which is shimmer-free.
Under the sunlight, it looks like the prettiest golden rose shade!
I don’t have many similar products, that’s why I recollected only one from Becca. A spoiler, this one looks better on my skin.
The staying power of this product is mediocre, you know. It flakes off from my skin within an hour or an hour and a half. I’ve tried to set it with the Becca highlighter but then all that “cakiness” looked too wrinkled and not at all pleasant. It looks its best when I apply it over my nude skin, without foundation. Yep, sometimes I let myself do it.
And in general, this is the product over my skin. Well, I don’t think that the result is bad or anything. Yet, I prefer dry texture more.
In the end, I conclude that this highlighter isn’t worth the money it cost, even though I bought it discounted.
Do I like it?
Honestly, I don’t. It’s obvious that the packaging isn’t good and the rest comes only to my high expectations.
Do I recommend it?
I don’t, because I think that it’s possible to find a better highlighter than this one.
Thanks for your attention!
