For a couple of years, I used to use a Smashbox concealer and was absolutely happy with it. But I wanted to have more coverage for my eye makeup, that’s why I decided to find something better and thicker. This is how I met this one from Urban Decay.
Packaging: I really appreciate this silver packaging and the adorable design of the tube itself. The concealer has a usual applicator wand, which is typical for concealers and lipsticks. I have mine in the color Fair Neutral, which is a dope light shade.
Application: right after the application I can feel the product’s texture, which is more like a dry oil. I mean it applies like an oil, yet it’s difficult to blend out and it sets too quickly. The coverage looks too matte. Unfortunately, my feelings had the ground and this is exactly what the coverage looks like. Too matte. And even though the formula offers high coverage, it still accentuates all the flaking patches and blemishes which I’d like to conceal.
The product applies the same with a beauty blender and a brush.
My skin with the concealer on:
I guess you can see yourself what I’m absolutely freaking out about with this concealer. I expected that a product, which costs $40 will never look like this over my skin.
My skin doesn’t look blemish-free, on the contrary, it feels as though it has to be concealed a lot.
Well, I think it can all be due to my skin dryness. Let’s wait for the better times and then look again.
I waited for some time and this is what I get now:
My skin without the concealer:
My skin with the concealer on:
The dry patches are still accentuated but the coverage is high. I can’t say anything negative about the staying power. The product stays on throughout the day and doesn’t travel anywhere.
This concealer doesn’t suit my eye skin because it may crease and dry out my skin there.
The main reason why I bought this concealer is actually for my eye makeup and here it’s a miss. Since the formula is difficult to distribute, I find it hard to draw a straight line for the cut crease. I have to trace it with several motions instead of one and quick one. In the end, everything looks decent, but this is not due to the concealer. I can get the same results with many other concealers as well.
Here my makeup is applied over this product where you can see yellow and white colors. My eyeshadows look brighter over this babe and they even stay on very well indeed. So, the product can be used as a makeup primer, unless your skin is too dry, of course.
I can say that I’m disappointed with this All Nighter concealer. Yes, it is pigmented and thick coverage-wise. It does conceal skin reddening, my eyeshadows look brighter over it but I’m not ready to miss out on the easy application and dry patches accentuating for all that. I’ll use it up for sure but I’ll never buy it again.
