Pros: glows beautifully, inexpensive, nice volume
Cons: emphasizes skin texture, the shade is too dark

Many beauty bloggers are raving about this highlighter, but I don’t get it.

Well, first thing first.

Price: $5

The volume of the product is good. Also, it has a nice packaging.

I don’t have any gripes about the pigmentation or glow of this product, although I got used to the baked formulas like in the popular E.L.F. Baked Highlighter.

Nevertheless, it has some cons that don’t allow me to give it 5 or at least 4 stars. I’ll tell you about it further on.

Unexpectedly, the shade Precious Petals turned out to bronze and not golden. It gives a warm glow that looks actually quite odd on light skin without a tan.

Therefore every time I use this highlighter I have to use a blush that pairs well with it to avoid any flashy orange streaks on my cheekbones. I use the Wet n Wild Rose Champagne for this purpose. Also, I have to blend it out almost completely, which makes it less long-lasting and less intense.

So, if you have light skin, the shade Precious Petals will look better in summer when your skin is tanned. Then this bronze glow will look alright and not so noticeable on skin.

However, it’s not the reason I give it 3 stars. Although it has quite a nice texture, it’s very dry. It reminds me of eyeshadows more. Every time I apply it to my face, I want to moisturize it a little bit. However, it depends on your personal taste.

Moreover, this product emphasizes my skin texture intensely, which is a huge issue for me. If I have uneven skin there, the highlighter will make it even more noticeable. I don’t have perfect skin, therefore I have so many requirements to any product I apply to my skin.

No matter how beautiful it may look on my skin, I won’t use it anymore, because it emphasizes any of my blemishes like my pores or anything.

That is the reason I stopped using the popular foundation of this brand. As for the highlighter, I haven’t yet decided if I should use it in the future or not. I guess I’ll wait till summer and then will draw the final conclusion.

No matter how hard I try, it looks very noticeable and odd against my light skin tone. In addition, the glow disappears when I blend it out properly. So, what’s the point of this product then? Smile

I’m actually itching to give this product to someone for testing, but I hope I’ll wait till summer and use it up myself! Smile

Thanks for reading!
