Perfect matte, alluring shade… So what’s wrong then?...
At first, I want to tell you a few words about the brand.
We are cruelty free, and always have been! Read more about that here. We also make it a point to work with cruelty-free, third-party vendors.
Our products have always, always been some of the best-priced on the market and it’s not like we use different materials to make them than our competitors. Know what we’re saying? We care about you.
The prices are really affordable and the assortment is huge!
I used to have another shade of this lipstick from the collection and it was ideal (Rebel Rose)!
There was everything about it - matte coverage, good staying power, fuss-free application and the color looked dope. It never applied streaky or patchily.
But this Give Me Mocha shade really let me down…
The tube of the lipstick is heavy, beautiful though not high-end to the eye. But it doesn’t look cheap either. It looks cute and descent.
Worthy shape and good quality plastic.
The applicator is handy BUT IT DOESN’T COME TO THIS SHADE!
It takes out the right amount of the product but the application is so difficult…
Such a streaky coverage (have a look at it yourself):
I always have to touch-up here or there and usually it looks as though I have too much formula on my lips on one side and not enough on the other… Such a mess…
And in my book, it accentuates all the blemishes that it sees. How do you find this coverage? The selfie camera shows it better. The shade is tempting, isn’t it?...
Maybe that’s me to blame but I can’t find the right way of wearing this shade. Maybe I should experiment more?...
As for the matte coverage, yes, it looks totally matte. As for the staying power - well, this shade deserves only three stars.
The price was affordable $4.99.
Maybe I’ve got my lipstick from a rotten batch or something. I don’t know.
But here, the only thing that you’ve left is to try and that’s all.
