Here are my buys from The Body Shop which I bought recently when they had a promo 2+1. I chose a shower gel, body butter and this lip butter. All the products are from the Shea Butter collection.
As you’ve probably already guessed, we’ll speak about the Lip Butter today. There’s shea butter in its ingredients which is used to nourish and protect my lip skin from the bad impact of the environment.

Honestly, if there hadn’t been that promo, it’s very unlikely that I’d bought this lip butter at all.
My first meet with almost the same product was in my school years when I had a screw on top cap jar with a lip balm. And the main thing that I hated about it was the package, I mean it was very inconvenient to scoop the balm out. And the texture was really waxy. That balm was so rough, that each time when I had to scoop it out was super challenging. It was terrible. Since then, I just try to avoid such balms and packages. But this Shea Lip Butter was given me for free and of course I took it.
I could also opt for a hand cream for free, but there are so many of them in my house that I eventually decided to try this lip butter.
The list of ingredients is given on the sticker as well as on the official site. Unfortunately, I can’t comment upon it, since I just don’t bother about the components, so no comments from me. But of course, I’ll cite the list for those who are good and interested in them,
Ingredients:
Butyrospermum parkii (Shea Butter) (Emollient), Ricinus communis (Castor Oil) (Emollient), Brassica Campestris/Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer (Brassica Campestris/Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer) (Skin-conditioning Agent), Cera Alba (Beeswax) (Emulsifier/Emollient), Lanolin (Emollient), PEG-8 Beeswax (Emulsifier), Aroma (Flavour), Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emollient), Silica (Absorbent), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Ammonium Glycyrrhizate (Flavour), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 77891 (Colour), CI 19140 (Colour), CI 15850 (Colour).
The product is of milky color. Texture-wise, it looks like a melting wax-cream. I take it out with my finger and then apply it right over my lips.
It has sweet flavour and sweet scent as well. But I wouldn’t say that the scent is potent. The product is easy to smear over my lips. Actually, it is a regular chapstick in a rather unusual package and shape. I use it only at home when I feel that my lips are dry or tightened. Or just when I leave home.
I wouldn’t recommend using this product outside your house or carry it in your purse. The package isn’t travel-friendly and it’ll be non-hygienic to use it outside. I can’t say that this balm has accumulative effect that lasts long or that it has skin care properties. Nothing of that kind. The only thing that it does is soften my lips skin and that’s all.
In general, I’m more than delighted with this product. After the application my lips become softer and sweeter. I take off one star for a non-hygienic package.
