It’s known that high end products are supposed to be of gorgeous quality and give visible results. However, it’s not always like this.

I have tried a lot of high end products from Dior, Givenchy, Guerlain and Lancome. Some were moisturizers, skincare treatments, lotions, face washes and makeup products, and I can say for sure that sometimes cheap stuff can easily replace them.

I’m not trying to say that high end products are bad and too pricey, but the point is, there are so many cheaper and better alternatives out there.

Let me take this Dior mask as an example.

I received this as a gift from my hubby almost a year ago. Yes, this poor thing lasted so long because I don’t really like it. I use it from time to time only because of the price..

The mask is housed in a heavy glass jar with 1,8 oz. Made in France.

My skin is combination, sensitive, prone to irritation, with a flaking T-zone and large pores.

About the mask:

What it is:An ultra-lightweight sleeping mask with a jelly-water texture that creates eight hours of continuously infused hydration.

What it is formulated to do:Wake up to softer, more radiant complexion that looks like you got a full night’s rest. The Hydra Life Jelly Sleeping Mask smooths the look of lines and texture so that skin is fully hydrated and appears supple and more volumized. With a no-rinse formula that’s suitable for all skin types, it leaves skin visibly improved day after day for a fresher complexion.

What else you need to know:Anjou mallow from the Dior Gardens: a source of beauty, hydration and pleasure. Researchers at the Dior Laboratories have been exploring the properties of this organically grown Anjou flower and its extraordinary ability to capture, filter, and channel the purest water to its corolla. Adding to these benefits, some of the biological elements in its composition make the textures in which it is used even more fun and luscious. From deep within to the skin's surface, mallow is a source of beauty, hydration, and pleasure.

The blue formula is like jelly. It gently glides over the skin:

It’s transparent:

The smell reminds me of a mix of aloe and cucumber and some fragrance. It lingers for a long time, and that’s what I’m not really happy about. The smell is too potent for comfortable sleeping.

The application is problem free, but what comes next...My face feels really wet with this mask, as well as my pillow, and all this leads to insomnia!

The next unpleasant fact is that my skin is really oily on the next morning, as though I’ve spent a whole day outside in the summer. I feel nice only after I’ve washed this off.

The mask is supposed to moisturize and smooth the skin, but I need to apply a moisturizing cream after it.

And the last, and the most frustrating fact is that this treatment gives zero effect. When it’s cold, my skin is flaking, plus the air is dry because of the heating. I kept complaining about this until my husband brought me this mask. Alas, it didn’t help. Actually, only my cosmetologist could help me fight the flaking.

It was a total waste of money, and I hope to run out of this mask as quickly as possible.P.S. I only give this 3 stars because there were no negative side effects. I would never recommend it, though, especially considering the full price.
